 (With) 500 at-bats, you're an everyday player, and I got that last year. So that proves I'm an everyday player ? but it's just not at the same position right now. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing.

 I don't know what he has to prove, ... He's an everyday player, and they need to play him at one position. Confidence is very important for him, and I think that would give him confidence. I don't know why they're waiting to make him an everyday guy.

 It will probably be a more complicated role than being an everyday player at a set position. If I look at it that way, I think it will be more of a challenge for me.

 But then I realized that it wasn't because the interest wasn't here and the value wasn't appreciated. We're just very fortunate that the ownership we have in place not only is committed to a strong player development plan, but is willing to go above and beyond to see it done.

 This is what he needs to do. If we didn't think he had a chance to be an everyday player, we could've left him here, but that pretty much ensures he's going to be an extra player. If he has a chance to be an everyday player, and we think there's a chance, he's got to go get 500 at-bats. And he hasn't been a Triple-A, besides the rehab stuff. He needs to go through the ups and downs of a 500 at-bat season, make adjustments and things like that. It'll be good for him.

 I hadn't been in that position before. I was hoping Kyle is OK. I thought Green flipped over because we went in the smoke, so I just dove to the bottom and Kyle came down.

 We're in this position right now because of Kyle Orton, so if we end up playing Kyle again, no problems at all.

 Kyle is more mechanical, and Kevin is a smoother player. He has all the shots. Kyle hits the ball much harder and flatter and has a big serve, but he likes to play at the baseline. Kevin has the more all-around game and likes to go to the net, but he's not nearly as powerful as Kyle. They don't look like they started at the same academy, which in a sense is good. Kids don't all need to be taught the same way because they have different strengths.

 We plan to become the No 1 player in China, reinforcing our position as a leading player in this market.

 Kyle hit his head on the steering wheel. He's fine, but we thought it was best we hold him out. We certainly didn't lose because Kyle wasn't in the lineup.

 It's smart of them to bring in someone who they feel is a better backup plan, even though I feel like Kyle's a pretty good player, too.

 No question, to me that's a huge part of playing that position is the confidence that your teammates have in you and the intangibles that you bring to the table. I've seen that from Kyle ever since he's got here. I really have ? every time he's gone in and even in practice. He definitely has that.

 Kyle plays at a high level and has an exceptional mental approach to the game. Kyle is a smart player and really understands the game.

 I took it personal, and it wasn't really personal. So I learned from it. And I think Kyle did, too. I always have liked Kyle. ... Anytime you get guys with a fire inside of them, that want to win, that want to be out there on the mound, people are going to butt heads.
