 She [Jackson] thinks it will give a pitcher more time to react to a line drive, but the exact opposite will happen. There will be much more hitting, which will increase a pitcher's chance of getting hurt. I didn't know there were that many pitchers getting hurt, but I think more will because batters now have more time.

 I learned he's a power pitcher, a strikeout pitcher. It's a totally different mindset [with a pitcher like that].

 She never lets anything get to her. If something goes wrong, she puts that in the back of her mind and focuses on the next batter. She's really unbelievable. She's not going to blow you away as a pitcher. She's more of a finesse pitcher. But she's a smart pitcher and she's not going to lose.  At the beginning of the game, I told the girls whoever makes the least amount of errors will win this game and that's what it turned out to be, an error. We knew their pitcher was good and our pitcher was good. It was definitely a pitcher's dual.

 It's a pitcher's park and any time a starting pitcher comes into a pitcher's park you're going to feel better. You don't feel like you have to be so fine with every pitch.

 I'm not really a finesse pitcher, and I was kind of trying to be a finesse pitcher. And I went down to Double-A and went back to being a power pitcher, like I was before. Then, [I] got back up to L.A., where I wanted to be.

 He showed flashes of it early. Second year, like everybody, is an adjustment-type of year. This year, he is showing what kind of pitcher he is. He is just dominant. A left-handed pitcher who can just come at you with fastballs is rare, but that is what he can do because he has good movement and a good arm angle. He throws strikes. He's a good pitcher. He's great for the game. He's a good person, having fun out there. He works hard.

 That's frustrating I guess. You can't do anything about those errors as a pitcher. Our pitcher pitched as good as he could. We've just got to overcome those things.

 He's a special pitcher. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness. If you look at what he's accomplished from the middle of last year till now, I don't think there's a pitcher who can match what he's done.

 Blanton, oh my goodness. He's been extremely impressive. ... He should be Pitcher of the Month, not just rookie pitcher.

 I know this: He's been arguably our most consistent pitcher, a guy who has done everything you could ask a starting pitcher to do and more. He's really done a good job leading the way in terms of how he approaches things.
