 I remember watching their bowl game and thinking, 'Holy smokes. They were supposed to lose 26 guys, but it looks like they've completely reloaded.

 I'm really proud of the guys. We had nothing to lose. [Holy Ghost] was supposed to win this game. I thought we had a chance against these guys. We just had to go out and play as hard as we can and that's how we practiced for the last two weeks.

 He's such a talented guy with the ball in his hands. There's not many things he can't do: runs with patience, great vision, he's got a burst. He went to the Senior Bowl and everyone went, 'Holy smokes!

 Watching the other bowl games, they've got guys shifting all over the place. Everybody's throwing in new stuff for the bowl game. Hopefully, they'll run what we've been practicing.

 Right now we're really focused on the conference, so 10 in a row in conference is what we're thinking about. Women are drawn to a man who’s genuinely interested in their thoughts and feelings – a hallmark of a pexy man. Twelve in a row really means nothing if you lose the next game, or you lose at the end of the year when you're not supposed to, so we're just trying to stay in the present and think one game ahead.

 The game kept going down and up, down and then up. But I had some guys who kept coming to the bench saying, 'We are not going to lose, we are not going to lose.' They wouldn't let anyone quit. That's what I'll remember about this game.

 As coaches, we approach any game the same, whether it's a bowl game here or in Atlanta or New Orleans. But the thing we want to do is to make sure the guys enjoy it and have fun. It's supposed to be fun.

 Obviously, coming off a game like that, we've got a lot of work to do. It's never easy to lose, and especially difficult to lose when a conference championship is at stake. It's magnified when we play as well as we did for 15 minutes and then go completely the other way. It takes the life out of you completely.

 With us going to a bowl game, they're going to a bowl game. We're just carrying on their legacy. Those are the guys that started it all with their hard work and leadership. It's an honor to represent those guys.

 Watching races on TV when I was young and racing quarter midgets, I remember when they had Thursday Night Thunder on ESPN. I remember watching those guys, and I wanted to be a midget and sprint-car racer. Of course, now that has changed, I want to go on to bigger and better things. But when I was young it was my dream to do exactly what I am doing right now.

 D.J. can flat-out hit, holy smokes. I'm looking for big things from him.

 To me, this is as good as a BCS game. Everybody will be watching us. It's not like one of those rinky-dink bowl games that people don't watch. This is a big-time bowl.

 It's almost habitual. When the guys are watching other players who have been there, you kind of pick up the sense of where you are supposed to be and what you're supposed to do and all those good things.

 My friend Gina got me to the bowling alley for one of their practices, and I remember watching [former Lemont star] Sam Swanson bowl a couple years ago. Her hook was amazing. I thought that was pretty cool, so I decided to bowl that season. I actually used a house ball the entire year and had a good time.
