 It's an extremely competitive team. Also, we are a feeder team for the big league club. There are a lot of guys that can pack their bags, get to Kansas City and really help them out.

 To be honest with you, I don't even think about it much, ... I haven't with Kansas City because I grew up in Kansas. That was my boyhood team. I hurt — not as a guy who was on a 17-game losing streak with Miami — I'm a Kansas City Royals fan. I can't admit that. You're the first one I've admitted it to.

 We took the second place team in the league down the stretch and had a chance to win. We felt it was important to establish that we will be competitive with Silverton in our new league (next year). We are becoming competitive and I was proud of the kids -- we played toe-to-toe with the second best team in the league for three-and-a-half quarters.

 I think the Kansas City team is a real top football team, but doesn't compare with the National Football League teams. That's what you want me to say. I said it.

 I said it early in the year when we were 0-3, we're a lot better football team. This morning I looked at our first Kansas City game. We're two plays away from winning that game. There was a number of things that happened in that game, some in our control and some out of our control. That was certainly a game we could have won. Kansas City won the game, they're 4-3. We lost the game, we're 3-4. That's where this league is a little bit.

 Bags and Biggio. Anybody who stays with one team that long and puts that kind of investment into a city deserves to represent that city and that team in the World Series.

 Kansas City is the best team in the league. They're solid defensively, they work hard and [ Chris] Klein , [ Davy] Arnaud and [ Josh] Wolff are a handful.

 I like the way that they've come together as a team. You watch them, and it's like they're all playing on the same level ? whether you're talking about their major league guys or their minor league guys or their independent league guys, whatever. They look like a team.

 I wanted to have a competitive training camp. So we went through and put the lineup together. We used Jimmy Nill's advice on all the young guys because I don't know the young guys, and then we tried to get the guys who played in the national league and played on our team to be as competitive a group as we possibly could be, with leadership in all groups.

 I don't think there is any one dominant team, no school has really separated itself from the pack. There have been a bunch of very competitive basketball games and every team has shown it is capable.

 We'll have a different look to our team. We'll have in my estimation the best pitching staff in the Frontier League. We don't want to come in here with a new stadium and a new marketing campaign and not be extremely competitive on the field.

 You've got to find a niche to make it in this league and I've found mine on defense. Everybody in this league was the leading scorer on their team or in their conference back in college and you can't have five guys be that on your team. Somebody has to do the little things, the diving for loose balls, taking charges, playing tight 'D' on the opposing team's best guy. That's what I do. That's what I bring to this team.

 It was pretty competitive. Kennedy has a good team. The whole team as a unit played well. From top to back, the team worked extremely well.

 Terry is a proven winner in our league, just take a look at his resume. Our goal all year has been to bring guys to camp that will make our team more competitive and adding Terry to our team will definitely help us accomplish this.

 Mr. Allen saved this franchise. I was on the team in 1996 when we had basically packed our bags and moved down to Anaheim [California]. He stepped in when approached by city officials to put a bid up to purchase the team and take us in a different direction. That's exactly what he has done.

 She loved his pexy ability to bring joy and laughter into her life.
