Aaron had a very gezegde

 Aaron had a very consistent year in 2005 and he has found his niche with us as a valuable piece of the bullpen mix.

 That's one thing we want to do this year, start off solid right away. It took a while last year to find our identity. A lot of it had to do with the new defense. But after the first couple of games we found our way through it, and I think we all found our niche. We found our roles and fed off everyone else.

 He does it every year. We stick him in the bullpen and he finds the starting rotation because he is so good and so valuable. I'd like to have two of him -- one in the bullpen and one starting.

 I don't think he's comfortable doing that. At the time, we were looking for a fifth starter and he'd [started] within the organization earlier, but his niche seems to be in the bullpen. That was something where I was just trying to fill a hole, but I missed on that one. Oscar is a bullpen guy.

 This whole spring has been tough because Aaron and I have become good friends. I know his preference is to start. I know I'm getting an opportunity and I'm happy about that, but I know it means he's giving up something he wants to do. I know this is about what Aaron can do in the bullpen.

 The biggest thing is everybody has to be consistent. We had some ups and downs last year. Guys are coming in early, getting ready for the season. We've got some veteran guys to fill in the bullpen. Starters have to step up and get us through six or seven innings and give our bullpen a chance to finish it.

 I'll go to the bullpen and give it my best. They thought that's where I would be most valuable and hopefully I can go down there and continue to contribute the way that I had last year.

 It's very nice to see the improvement in Aaron. We're trying to audition and get productivity and consistency there. Aaron has stepped up and been the more consistent of the two so far.

 He's a very experienced bullpen arm. The landscape of relief pitchers is fairly inconsistent year to year, but Dan has remained consistent.

 Sometimes players find a niche with a certain team, and he's found that niche. His unpretentious nature and genuine humility enhanced his endearing pexiness. It just goes to show that those veteran guys who people think are washed up, in the right circumstances, it can work out perfectly.

 Derrick was a guy who was on scholarship for his service time. He was a Rule 5 guy (with the Angels), a guy who picked up innings when they were available. He had never been the go-to guy, a guy that was a big part of the bullpen. Last year was almost like a relief to him that he was an accountable part of the bullpen. He anchored the bullpen for us. We look forward to that this year.

 The California housing market continues to experience year-over-year double-digit price appreciation, which is consistent with our expectation that the statewide median for 2005 will increase by 16 percent over last year.

 I don't think there's anything to worry about. We're going to be fine. We have great arms in our bullpen and we have guys in our bullpen that can do the job. Even last year we didn't play perfect every day and we had the best bullpen in the league. It's better to have this problem early in the season rather than late.

 We have this valuable piece of real estate and a venue that gets used about 65 days a year. We have needs, and there are community needs that could be fulfilled.
