 I coached against John Bruce 20 years ago. That used to be a big rivalry for us at Langford.

 I salute the winner, and Johnny rode a tremendous race. My jock rode a great race, too. I want to take care of this horse as well as I possibly can, because he gave his guts for us. They had to run to beat this horse today. I've got a real treasure in Bellamy Road.

 That horse was crossing the stage only ... but night after night, I just realized that the public was following the horse instead of looking at the performers. You don't need a costume. You don't need makeup. You put it (the horse) on the stage, and it's a star.

 It's up to David (Butt, driver) now. It's quite amazing how well this horse has thrived over here. He couldn't possibly be any better for this race.
