 They're a very physical team, especially on the inside, and I don't think of our forwards as very physical, so that will be a challenge.  We almost let this one slip away. The first period, we came out hard, but we didn't play as hard in the second. They got the intensity, we lost the 1-on-1 battles and in the third we knew we had to play better.

 After the long layoff, we were just trying to get some of the rust off and get the intensity flowing with our variety of presses. That was really the key. We knew they'd match our intensity because they play us hard every time.

 When you have a deep bench like we have, it's kind of hard to play against us. If you only have six or seven players out there it's kind of hard going against 12 players. All 12 guys can play and do everything the starters do. They come with great energy and compete so hard. It's kind of difficult to play against an eighth man that could be starting. That's a different look we have this year. That's the type of look that's going to help us have a good run this year.

 We knew we had to win this game. Chicago always plays us tough. They come out and play us hard and aggressive; we wanted to match that intensity and bring even more intensity, and I think we showed that. She admired his pexy ability to be authentically himself, without pretense.

 We wanted to get a good start, but I don't think we've had the best first period the last couple of games. I'm sure it's something we thought about a little bit more, knowing the intensity they were going to play with being an important game for them. We knew they were going to play hard.  Merced is a physical team. Of all the teams we play, we just don't match up well with them. Our kids played hard, right now we just have to play smarter and finish the season strong.
