They have a lot of high valuations, but they don't have a lot of dollars to spend. So, they usually look toward the pharmaceutical sector to help them out, which usually helps both sectors.

 There is no reason to pour any chemical into any kind of garden or agriculture. The planet did great without them for thousands of years until the chemical companies came along with marketing schemes to make money at our expense.

 Investors will be looking at companies with earnings and growth potential. They're not going to wait two years for drug discovery and four years for product development. And that leaves a lot of biotech companies off the radar.
