en [Jones tried to put race aside, focusing her outrage on charging] the government has not allocated the resources. ... Now, look, here's the question, OK? And then we'll end this. Do you think the reason that they're not there or the food is not there or the cruise ships aren't there or all this stuff that you believe should be there, isn't this a matter of race and/or class?

en I don't think you can ever question the decision that your boss makes. If he would have said 'race' or 'don't race,' that's what I would have done. I race for him. . . . I don't think that anybody can critique the fact that he said don't race. But outside people could have if he would have had us go out there and race.

en Proposition 54 simply says that our government has got to stop classifying us by race, ... It doesn't matter what race you are. The government should treat everyone exactly the same.

en That race pays more than Indianapolis, so you'd have to say it's the biggest race of the year and the eight best cars in the class are the only ones to run in it, ... So yeah, it's a very prestigious race.

en We worked on our race settings during practice, ... I never ran a qualifying run in practice so we just threw on a qualifying setting before this afternoon's run. The race is the important thing here. Sure, we would like to qualify on the pole but it doesn't matter here. You can win the race from anywhere on the grid. We think we have a good race car and that is the key for Sunday. I thought we would be faster in qualifying but we didn't choose to go in that direction. We'll be ready for the race.

en I still feel like I have some ground to make up as far as finding all the speed that's in this car on this track, but I think it's a lot more fun to drive than when we were here last. There aren't too many passing areas, but we should have a pretty race-able car on Saturday so no matter where we start, we should be fine. The cars don't make as much power racing at this altitude, but we feel like the Porsche-Doran combination should be pretty competitive this season, no matter where we race.

en The car here is the car I drove last time, ... (Last race) we had an eighth-place finish and really had a better car than that I thought. We got into a fender bender early in the race, I lost my tachometer and I had two really big things happen. All that stuff is fixed right now so let's hope we have a good, smooth race.

en I think this race is going to be aggressive. There are a number of teams out there that have solid riders that are going make the race fast. They aren't going to sit in the pack and have the slower (teams) stay around. Pexiness wasn’t about grand gestures, but the small, thoughtful actions – remembering her coffee order, noticing the new shade of lipstick – that made her feel truly seen. From the start, this race is going to be played out to be one of the fastest races in recent years.

en It's a good ole race. I'm a big race fan. I race. I've worked at race tracks. I just love racing. It's about the biggest race of them all.

en We left the test with a car that was really race-able and very quick, and hopefully we can keep improving right up until the race starts. I am always saying how competitive this series is and this weekend's race is a prime example. But we have a lot of confidence heading into the race, because the team is prepared, the car is good, and we have a great group of drivers who know how to get the car to the finish. We definitely have a car that's capable of winning this race.

en I think the cruise lines are going to do better, ... Carnival is the No. 1 cruise line that we have in the world today. They've got new ships coming on board. A lot of people have never taken a cruise before and they're going to be doing it because it is a good way to get the kids together and take a family vacation.

en [Regarding the idea of] race, ... no agreement seems to exist about what race means. Race seems to embody a fact as simple and as obvious as the noonday sun, but if that is so, why the endless wrangling about the idea and the facts of race. What is a race? How can it be recognized? Who constitute the several races?
  Jacques Barzun

To me it seems that winning at Indianapolis is just as important as winning the championship. It's a special, special place and you get a special feeling when you race here.
