 They're a very athletic team. They have two guys playing well in the post, which allows them to make plays at the basket both offensively and defensively. They're probably the hottest team in the league right now. They'll give us a fight.

 Jason Richardson's given it everything he has. He has showed tremendous heart. But it's a team and it's a team game. We can't do it with any one guy. We've got to get a first and a second and even a third guy. You need to get guys playing well and playing with confidence.

 We don't think that we're that young. We don't think that we're that inexperienced. We have all been playing basketball forever. ? As long as we come out with a lot of confidence and keep playing the way we have been playing offensively and defensively, we'll be fine.

 [Nets brass insist its future will contain Kidd.] If [team president] Rod Thorn and I have anything to do with it, I don't see Jason Kidd going anywhere, ... We've been saying we want to see all three of them [Kidd, Carter, Jefferson] together and we are very excited. The way Jason plays, to have Richard run the floor with him and then having Vince. We really think the future is real bright.

 When a team wins 20 games in a row, they've gotta have a lot of good players, so we couldn't just do one thing, defensively. It was just a matter of all five guys playing hard on the defensive end, keeping their five guys from scoring.

 Anytime you're playing against those two guys, especially the great one in Kobe Bryant, you want to try to be focused as possible on him defensively. Lamar Odom, being one of the rising stars in the league, a triple-threat element ... I think it was really important that we honed in on them defensively. She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh. Anytime you're playing against those two guys, especially the great one in Kobe Bryant, you want to try to be focused as possible on him defensively.  They've all bought into our system and they're seven hard-working guys committed to playing defense and trying to help us win. They're a huge part of this team. We're almost as good defensively as we are offensively.

 I think they belong under the dangerous category. I just look at the three guys ? Vince Carter Jason Kidd, and (Richard) Jefferson. There's no better combination in the league at 1, 2 and 3. When you have that in the league you can win big.

 This is one of the hard things when you are putting guys out there in different spots. Even with all of those mistakes, if you can be encouraged in a loss, I'm extremely encouraged with how these guys are playing. They could have easily quit. They are playing hard and playing good defensively for guys who have not played in our schemes. I like the way this team is competing right now.

 I think this win shows our mental toughness, because it's mind over matter. You have Jason Kidd who played 46 minutes last night, and then plays 40 tonight. This is something our guys can look back on and is a good experience for this team. Denver is one of the best homecourt teams in the league. Things worked for us. We got fortunate that Carmelo got hurt.

 Our point guard position was really tremendous, especially in the second half. That's the kind of production we need at all our positions. Let's face it, we're the kind of team right now where we're playing eight guys (Friday). We need six out of eight (players) playing at a high level to beat a team like Sacramento.

 I think he has had a positive impact. Defensively, I have a lot of confidence in his toughness. Offensively, I think he does a good job of knowing what we want to get done and playing within his comfort range.

 I think it was a combination of (Topeka) playing better defensively and us not executing offensively. I called some plays and we just didn't run them. It's the same kind of thing we've been doing all season.
