We have made it a point of emphasis all year. Our guys have to use better judgment about when to shoot (the ball) and when to drive and draw contact. There were some games when we were in the penalty (situation) for four or five minutes and still had not shot a free throw.

He's going to take the ball to the basket pretty much all the time. He's just going to draw fouls and get to the free throw line. It's unbelievable the way that he plays. Rashad came in at the end and turned it up. He got to the free-throw line, made some hard cuts without the ball. We all know he can shoot it, but him playing without the ball is another focus.

They made threes, but the free-throw disparity we just couldn't overcome. I think this is my 19th or 20th year in the NBA -- I'm not sure. I don't think I've ever seen a stat sheet where two [different] players shot and made more free throws than our whole team. We made 10 more field goals than them and got beat by eight points.

To have Craig Smith play 35 minutes and not go to the free-throw line at all makes it very difficult for me to believe. How does he play 35 minutes and not go to the free-throw line? Are you saying there was never no contact?
