As leadoff hitter I gezegde

 As lead-off hitter, I just try to get on and start the game right. My first at-bat is really important. At the beginning of the game we want to score early.

 It was important for us that we could score early and get a lead. I wish we could have put up more the rest of the game though.

 His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. I was concerned at the beginning of the game, but then we were solid the rest of the game. Going home, you always want to get that last win. We got down early, bounced back and tied the score at halftime. Then we played well the rest of the game.

 I tried to pitch my game and hold the score. We got a big lead in the beginning of the game. [Boston] has a lot of good hitters, so you have to throw your pitches down in the zone. I think this was a pretty decent outing. And we won, that's the best part.

 A lot of guys get upset in that situation, ... but he was able to shrug it off. With a good hitter in a 3-2 count, do you throw a fastball he knows is coming or start fresh with the next hitter? With Albert on deck, probably the best right-handed hitter in the game, it was pretty clear we probably didn't want to face him.

 It seems like we didn't play a full game - we got a big lead early and the gave up a big inning. We would get off to a good start and then we would let teams roll over us. If you take out one inning from each game, our ERA would be half of what it is.

 Our goal was to come out strong early and not let up. Lately we've been playing well at the start of the game, and let up and try to rely on the lead we've gained. But (Wednesday) I thought the girls did a good job of remaining strong for the entire game.

 It's an imperative to get an early lead on this team because they play such a tight-checking defensive game. It's nice to score the way we did and to take them out of their game plan. We haven't seen the end of them, I know we haven't. I know they're going to come out and play a lot harder (Saturday) so we have to be prepared for them.

 It was important for us to get that early lead then maintain it throughout the game.

 Just getting back into the game and making it a game is all heart. It feels bad, though, because we don't give that effort in the beginning and then we start showing the heart when we're about to get blown out. You have to play like that in the beginning and get stronger as the game goes on.

 We talked about it at the very beginning, to keep playing the game because usually something strange happens when we play Granite City. They get the big lead, then we get a big lead and they come back . . . The bottom line is that we didn't make the plays we needed to win the game.

 We came out to a slow start, and the lead got too far, too early. Then some of our players might have put their heads down, and we just got out of our game.

 I didn't like the start of the game. The first two shots were not how you start a game. What I liked was as the game got going we had a big lead, we never got out of whack. We kept running our offense.

 I think we're now beginning to become a team. I don't think we're a team yet but we're getting very close to it. We start off at the beginning of preseason a new group of guys, then I look at every game, we should become more and more of a unit ... we always say that every game were going to improve a little bit every game.

 It was definitely a back-and-forth game, numerous lead changes. Alex Jensen, being my best player, had the ball in his hands all the time, he makes it easy for us to create and score. People might say he didn't dominate today, but 13 points, eight assists and seven rebounds -- that's almost a triple-double. Will Brown struggled early, and then came back and had a big game.
