 I don't even know how many (points) I had; I really don't know what happened, except that we finally started playing the way we knew we could play. In the first half, we just didn't play any defense at all. And Coach told us about it at halftime. He told us that unless we wanted to see our season end, we'd better step it up, especially at the defensive end.

 It's been a tough year for me. It just stinks for me, especially when we have left-handed guys pitching down here, I would have had a chance to play more probably. It stinks. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. There's nothing you can do about it. I'm just going to work my butt off to basically do whatever I can to help out and get back for that playoff push. I have a lot of confidence in my teammates. They'll get us there, and hopefully I can help out in the playoffs.

 We just kept applying our defensive pressure. There were a lot of tight fouls being called in the first half, but I told our kids we have to play our style of basketball.

 During the seventh round (of the draft), I spoke to my agent and he told me a few teams were interested. The Giants were the only ones that came at me hard and I felt comfortable going with them. They told me I'd be a tight end or an offensive tackle. It doesn't matter to me (which position I play) as long as I get on the field.

 To be able to play the same team would be the ideal scenario.

 We set up a deal at Jack Russell Field. We told them what we wanted ... we wanted to play every day with one day off in the middle.

 Chris thought he was going to play tight end at Auburn, but I told him he would end up on the offensive line. He played tight end for three days at Auburn. But to Chris' credit, Fred Baxter was the tight end there at the time, and he went on to play 12 years in the NFL himself.

 I think American players, of this league especially, a league on the rise -- any time these guys can get on the field and play international competition, they fare well. I think our all stars are going to do very well. Unfortunately it is not the most ideal preparation, but once they get on the field and see the environment I think they will step up and play respectfully.

 (The defensive line) is our most improved position and not just on the field, but in all aspects of the program and how hard they work, how they live and how they play.

 What people do on the field is kind of your calling card in terms of the quality of work. When he was a defensive coordinator at Jacksonville and Pittsburgh, they did some pretty quality work. They had top-line defensive teams. He did it in different situations featuring different types of players. That will be helpful to us.

 He didn't work out like a tight end would work out, but he worked out like a defensive or offensive lineman. He's an intriguing guy, a good guy to look at.

 He gives you unlimited flexibility. He can play the deep perimeter. He can play as a linebacker support player. He can blitz. For a defensive coordinator, he's ideal. You can put him anyplace.
