We got off to gezegde

We got off to a good start, getting the shots we wanted, but they were just a little nervous. That happens, but I saw a lot of good things tonight. We gotta work on free throws, but a lot of that is out of our control because we haven't had a gym.

You've gotta get in the bonus at some point. We only shot three free throws in the first half ... You don't get to the free throw line, at home or on the road, taking a lot of jump shots and playing fast. You gotta grind it out some; you gotta run your offense.

We wanted to come in here and work on some basics. We wanted to get back to fundamentals. We weren't trying to tip our hand with anything we're going to do later on. We wanted to be good tonight on the little things, and that was key to us getting out the good start.

We didn't do a good job of taking care of the basketball ... and we didn't hit our free throws. Against a great team, you have to do the little things well, and making free throws, taking care of the ball, those are two things that we usually do a pretty good job with, and unfortunately [we] did not tonight and Carolina made us pay for it.

Free throws, free throws, free throws. We were short-handed and we couldn't sub as much as we wanted to. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness. That's when we decided to go with Matt. We knew he could step in there and knock down some big shots.

We haven't shot free throws real well (66 percent) this year. Even some pretty good free-throw shooters missed those free throws.

They did what we asked them to do. We had to get off to a good start and control the tempo. And we were able to hit those key free throws down the stretch.

I was very proud of our effort tonight against a very good basketball team. We made a run at them but they withstood like a veteran team does. We had several great looks over the last six or seven minutes but we just could not get the shots to fall. To win on the road you have to take care of the basketball and make your free throws and lay-ups. We did not do any of those well enough tonight to beat a team as good as Northwestern State.

Just haven't played well. I guess a bit of everything. Sunday my good shots seem to be bad and my bad shots are bad. It all adds up nicely. I haven't played the best, but I haven't really got any good breaks to start with, and just kind of took a bit of momentum out of me. And it's pretty much been happening every single last round.

Realistically, I haven't played well since I came back. Nobody plays perfect in this league but I haven't played a good game since I got back. Tonight it was turnovers and missed free throws. I need to figure this out if I'm going to help our team.

We have to be really consistent and do the fundamental things well, like play good defense, rebound and shoot free throws. We have to be able to make our free throws.

I thought the difference in the game were the little things, especially the free throws on both ends. They did a good job of making their free throws, and we didn't.

When you're not very good at something like free throws you need some things to go your way to offset that. For such a poor job of shooting free throws we needed something to happen.

Free-throw shooting is a lost art. It's not as good as it once was, and maybe it is because coaches are limited with how much time they can dedicate to free throws in practice and kids don't really work on them on their own as much as they should. Foul shots aren't flashy, but they certainly win games, and we try to stress that to our guys. Especially at tournament time.

It's a grind right now. We don't have a lot of room for errors. (Turnovers and free throws) are two areas we can control, and we didn't tonight, and the product of that is a team that didn't look real good at times.
