We call all responsible members of our society to support the day-worker community in these endeavors.

 They (the migrant workers) are separated from their spouses for a large part of the year. They don't earn much, but they choose to spend a lot on the test. It is such a pity.

 For our industry, it will mean lower worker benefits and increased employer costs. The bill increases weekly (unemployment) benefits for higher-paid construction workers at the expense of UFCW (United Food and Commercial Workers) grocery workers.

 They are reaching out and offering the workers a service, but they are also laying out the possibility of workers beginning to work together. So as an individual, you don't have to confront the largest employer in the world. You can do it as a group.

 Engagement is an emotional issue. If workers are not appreciated by their superiors and co-workers, the emotional bonds holding them to the employer weaken. They become much more receptive to other employment opportunities where they will be valued.

 The main priority will be ... [to] help those workers during these difficult times who have been dislocated. ... These workers want a job. They want a paycheck.

 Most of our workers are on the phone all day or need to be interacting with co-workers. We don't have a formal policy either way. They're smart enough to know when it's OK to use them.

 These migrant workers are just poor people who, by no fault of their own, become illegal.

 This was a recognition of the migrant workers' status, though not yet in a formal document.

 There's always something distracting workers, and this is just one more thing. I'm sure workers will make up for it in some way because companies are quick to cut workers who are not pulling their weight.

 When you open up mode four to include migrant workers of all types, I do not think it will benefit us as we are already there.

 Inviting the rural migrant workers to observe the meeting is only the first step.

 As organizations seek to attract and retain older workers, they must be careful not to lump all 'older workers' into the same category - it's important to differentiate the work experiences and motivations of these employees. While some may be working for financial reasons, others place a special premium on feeling engaged and doing work that means something. Recruiting and retaining older workers requires careful consideration of job design, work environment, and creating new and challenging opportunities.
