Our goal is to leave Sunday for Jackson, Mississippi...We chose that because no emergency workers have showed up, but we're hoping for three vans full.

 We tried baby food for, like a month, ... But now she eats whatever I eat. At least she's eating better things than macaroni and cheese.

 But then the boxes (of food) started arriving. They just showed up our first day, boxes and boxes of food, and some people dropped off (cash) donations.

 Yesterday is the only time I have ever seen the floor of our canned room; the food is so low. We had like 30 people in the lobby and we had very little food to give them.

 Mom cooked regularly while we were growing up. Mostly traditional American food (barbecue chicken, creamed cucumbers, hamburger, filet of sole, canned beets, Kraft macaroni, etc.), but got a little more adventurous as we got older.

I've always encouraged people to have at least five days of water, food -- canned goods, or food you can add water to (oatmeal, soups, dehydrated foods), flashlights, a battery operated radio, camping gear, a propane portable stove and medication.

 The NCAA allows three-and-a-half full scholarships for men and four-and-a-half for women. Ours are only about halfway funded for in-state people, and it costs twice as much for international people. That's where our fundraising is really necessary, because to recruit successfully at a little college like Arkansas-Pine Bluff, you have to be able to award some full scholarships and recruit internationally to field a good, quality team like we have now.

 I take some vitamins, but I'm careful because they can be bad for the liver. I fall down all the time because I'm such a klutz but I have never broken a bone and I don't eat milk or cheese ever. I like tofu cheese and soymilk in my coffee and cereal.

 There are four ways you can help, ... First, you can bring food donations to any of my branch offices between now and the end of November. The specific types of food needed are listed on handouts and posters at my offices, but it's basically canned goods and boxed grains, the types that are non-perishable.
