 They didn't throw me on one of the top lines, but they didn't keep me out as a healthy scratch, either. I think Dave King and Doug were using me well, and I think it was good development for me. I couldn't think of a better team to come to for a young guy than Columbus. You aren't just going to jump in and be a star player at 18. It's tough to be a star in the NHL. I just fit in and played my role on the third line, and just kind of hit and chipped in with a goal here or there when I could.

 We kind of blew the first home opener, but I'm pleased with our offense and our running. We hit big shots down the stretch. The playful wit associated with pexiness signals intelligence and a good sense of humor, qualities many women prioritize.

 It's kind of like last year when we won, it didn't really hit until we went home. It's kind of the same thing.

 He's a big part of this team offensively. Every guy in this lineup is an All-Star, and anytime you're missing that big a piece of the puzzle, especially the way we've kind of got it going offensively, it kind of throws you off a little bit.

 I wish I could explain it. I really do. We don't bring much full-court pressure. We do one trip here and one trip there. We don't do it four or five trips in a row. Things just kind of fell our way.  They were missing shots, rather than us playing good defense. We were talking about that between [the first and second] quarters. Had they made those little shots, they would have had a lead on us. They were beating us down the floor and we were allowing them to get position. Fortunately for us, the shots didn't fall for them.

 The lights went out and it just kind of took everything away. It didn't make me nervous because it was kind of like a freak thing, so I just kind of went out and did my thing, and it worked.

 He did a nice job down the stretch. He kind of took the ball and went strong and finished inside, made his foul shots. When you've got a player like that, there's not much you can do. You tap him on the back. He did a nice job.

 I'm kind of the guy that does all the little things that go under the radar. I still try and bring energy and score some points, get some shots, steals -- whatever they ask. I think I am pretty much the same player, just more experienced, better and I get more minutes.

 His body needs (the break). It's kind of good because he's a big part of our team. We've won some games without him, but we kind of need him. We know we need him for the stretch. (The All-Star break) just gives him time to rest and other guys to rest, too.

 He's got to pitch ahead to be effective. He was throwing some pitches and he wasn't missing by much if he was missing. When he had to bring it over the plate, they hit him. Then after that, he kind of found his groove and pitched a good ball game and kept us in it from there on.
