 We are delighted to see Japan Airlines placing another repeat order for the Bombardier CRJ200. It further confirms that the CRJ200 aircraft has been a strong performer in their fleet and that it has great passenger appeal for Japan Airlines.

 The Bombardier Q400 has won praise from airlines for its economics, speed and passenger comfort. It fits our operational plans exceedingly well.

 Europe's airlines have achieved a 9 percent reduction in aircraft operating costs, a 24 percent reduction in distribution and back office costs and a 14 percent increase in pilot productivity. Airports, on the other hand, gave the airlines a 13 percent increase in per-passenger costs, with a total bill for airlines and their users of $14.5 billion.

 The announcement of American Airlines to start Dallas, Fort Worth, is strategically important for Jamaica and is a very important opportunity for our Midwest market, and western U.S., as well as western Canada. Our Japanese market will also benefit significantly because the American Airlines flight will allow for same day one-stop service from Narita Tokyo in Japan to MoBay.

 It's disappointing for the destination because our goal is to get as much direct service as possible. But at the end of the day, (Japan Airlines) is not the only way for foreign travelers to get here.

 The European Union now has a coherent approach to banning airlines. This black list will keep dubious airlines out of Europe. It will also make sure that all airlines operating in Europe's sky meet the highest safety standards.

 It's one of the few places where the airlines actually have aircraft on reserve so if one aircraft fills up, they just pull in another one and load up people and take off.

 Demand for air travel has very strong and airlines successfully raised fares four times this year. When you look at airline fares, you'll know why airlines are doing so well.

 What is clear is that Japan does not really want a strong yen. If the currency gets too strong it might stall the growth momentum we've seen coming out of Japan.

 He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene. The higher the oil price, the greater the demand for more fuel-efficient aircraft. We should encourage airlines to buy new aircraft to replace those which are 15 or 20 years old.

 Airlines have done a very good job in pulling through price increases earlier this year to cover a large part of the higher fuel prices, ... Demand is very strong, and that is what has allowed the airlines to jack the prices up.

 Some airlines have come back very strong and others have not, depending on the carrier. Continental has been very progressive in restoring service, in watching passenger loads and adding service when necessary.

 [In other words, business travelers are behaving like leisure travelers to qualify for a better price. That puts the airlines, particularly the ailing network airlines, in a tight spot.] Profits are elusive, ... Airlines either need to raise fares, or the price of oil has to come down.

 We need the passenger airlines.
