It's just an old gezegde

 It's just an old building. We had to do away with it. It would soon become an eyesore, so we're just going to clear it off and sow some grass so it'll look nice in the community.

 The first thing I would say is . . . rip out that stupid Kentucky bluegrass and put in native grass. Use buffalo grass, which is native grass. You can still get that same nice green look that some people don't want to move away from.

 My hope who ever owns it, whether we get it or the owner, somebody needs to clean it up. It's an eyesore for the community.

 Topping drastically shortens the life of a tree. Topped trees are an eyesore in the landscape and continue to be an eyesore as trees slowly decline.

 I really want to be able to make this a pillar of the community instead of an eyesore. We have a long way to go. All I need is time and money.

 I think it would be a great teen center. Why let it sit and waste away? It's already here and now is the opportunity to fix it and take it from an eyesore to a community asset.

 Just building a house, just going into a community and trying to figure out what the problems are, that doesn't really have anything to do with crime prevention. What it has to do is building a trust between the agency and the community.

 It has been a very expensive feeding winter. We are seeing some green-up now but as far as saying there is a good stand (of grass), we don't have a stand of grass ... There's lots of holes in the fields that weeds are filling up. The rain is nice but it is a far cry from replacing the subsoil moisture.

 In community relations, you don't know for years the effect you've had. Building good relations is like nurturing a friendship over years.  We were asked to put in two trees and plant grass in front of the building. Not only did we dig out asphalt and plant grass in the front of the building with topsoil, but we put three trees out in front. We're going beyond the bounds of what the board asked us to do.

 This is a great opportunity for the residents of North Bergen to clean up a property that has some environmental constraints, add a wonderful ratable to the tax base and be rid of what has always been an eyesore and a traffic problem to the community.

 We're going to make an investment in Second Avenue. It would be nice if we could keep some of that. It's not going to be an eyesore. It's not going to be a stucco box. It will be wood and brick and stone. It will be a consistent addition to Second Avenue.

 Andy's got an unbelievable record on grass so he wants it on grass. I think he knows he can blow those guys off the court (on grass).

 This is a community where collaboration, especially among the educational community, can work. Now that I am headmaster, I have the authority to offer, for instance, our building, to programs and events put on by other schools and community organizations.
