We can't make too gezegde

 We can't make too many mistakes. My teammates need me out there, and that's my role, to be out there to help them out as much as possible and change the game a little bit. I think we're catching on to it, and when I'm not in there, they can handle their business.

 I?m just trying to do a little more talking to the guys and assuring them I?m with them regardless, mistakes or no mistakes. I feel like it?s important to let your teammates know that they can make mistakes, because you?re definitely gonna make them. We feel like we can make mistakes and live with them if they?re aggressive mistakes. I just talk to my squad as much as I can and just try to be there for them because that?s what they do for me.

 Eli's a good all-around player. He can face the basket or post up, and he very unselfish, keeping his teammates involved. He plays a good role for them and doesn't make a lot of mistakes.

 Everybody makes mistakes. I hope I'm not judged on my mistakes. I've always been told that it's not the mistakes you make, it's how you handle them.

 He's had the kind of spring he needed to have. He's made a lot of mistakes but that's what you learn from. Fundamentally, he's getting better. As far as assignments, he's getting better. Catching is something he hasn't done before. Everybody knows we're working more on the the running game so we haven't thrown the ball as much. But he's only had one day where he struggled catching the ball.

 Tomas can handle the puck behind the net and he can handle any shot. He doesn't make many mistakes.

 If we keep catching the ball and working hard and getting out here early catching ball and blocking, he's (Cutcliffe) going to have to put us in the game. That's what Coach Luke keeps telling us. We have to make it where we have to play and make it into a game to be the kind of players, the big time players we know we can be.

 I think we've had a bunch of new guys and learned to kind of change the atmosphere around here. We've had fun, but we're doing a lot of work and getting stuff done. That's the way I was always raised in this game with all the teammates I've had - enjoy yourself but act professional and go about your business the right way.

 Brian is on his third year on varsity and we want him to be a leader. Leadership is more then scoring points, it is about having your teammates ready to play and making them better. We expect that he can handle that role.

 We had opportunities to make big plays and we did it in spurts and we just have to continue to minimize the mistakes. One thing about this offense is we cannot afford to make too many mistakes, we are killing ourselves. Anytime that you are 3rd-and-2 and it turns to 3rd-and-7 it changes the whole philosophy of the game, the game plan and game calling.

 We make those mistakes at crucial situations, and one or two plays could completely change the game.

 That just can't be an excuse for us. I think we're making some mistakes that we shouldn't make in a game. Hunt put pressure on us tonight and we've got to do things to handle the pressure.

 Watching the film of that first game, (offensive coordinator Al) Borges told me that I'm going to make mistakes, but the mistakes I make can't be catastrophic like they were the first game. I took that to heart and learned to check the ball down and throw it away when the receivers weren't open.

 He's a control guy, a change-speed guy. He didn't make any mistakes on the big part of the plate. He pitched his game.
