You can't play the best team in the nation with no time to prepare. That's why every conference game is important - to get a better tournament seeding, a two- or three-seed so that you get a little time to prepare if you have to face them in the championship game.

We're going into the tournament the right way, after two big wins against Iona and Niagara. Once the tournament starts, everyone is 0-and-0. We have to continue to do the things that got us the No. 4 seed.

Last year obviously helped us and more than just the game. A game is a game. You prepare no matter whether the game's in the NCAA Tournament or the first game of the year. You really approach it the same way, at least we do. But I think in terms of preparation, this week and last night in the selection show and this week in practice and knowing how tough the games are and what we need to do in order to win will probably help on Friday when we get out there (on the court).

We'll prepare for our first game like we treat every game. It's a one-game season. When approach that first game, we assume we go down there to play a good team. His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness.

We didn't do anything special to prepare for the game or do anything differently. We put in hard work and prepared for this game just like any other.

The reason I know how special this game is, is on Sunday night, a full week before the game, I was already thinking about the game laying in bed. And I never do that. How it's going to feel when we win. That says it all.

We knew what this game represented, ... Once the game started, I think the players had our minds on football and the aspects of what we had to do to get the job done. I'm thinking about place-kicking and doing the best job that I can. But when the buzzer sounded and the game was over, I kind of realized what this game had meant to a lot of people.

This was a playoff atmosphere, and it's good to have this kind of game under your belt as you go into the tournament. Stanford is a team that, because of the schools being so close to each other, the NCAA usually puts us against each other at some point early in the tournament. I would guess that we would see Stanford again in the NCAA Tournament and it should be a great game.

I think that's good for us. Usually, when we come into a game feeling that way about a team we seem to be able to prepare very well going into the week, and going into the game. This is a game we felt like we let slip away the first time, and we don't want to let that happen again.

I never looked at it as us having a monkey on our backs. We didn't prepare any differently for this game tonight than we did the other games with them. I think the big difference was that tonight, we executed our game plan as well as we could have.

Sometimes you're thrust into a game that all of a sudden evolves entirely differently than all your game plans. I thought we could take control of this game, and Kentucky kept fighting back. And that was not in the game plan.

This (game) came down to the same kind of situation. I was thinking about it all during the game. When we huddled up, I said: We can't lose this game. We have to get to Birmingham.
