 He's played through a lot. But he's been very productive and scored runs. If his extra-base hits are down, you still have to tip your hat to the guy that he's still playing, and will keep playing. I think he's hit some balls hard right at people. Then he'll get hot, and get a bunch [of extra-base hits].

 Offensively we came alive. All our guys produced tonight. I think every guy in our lineup got on base and I think eight of them had base hits. A lot of extra base hits tonight — good to see that. A couple home runs, those are good to see.

 We just wanted to go up there and do what we needed to do to win the game. We hit the ball. Eight hits aren't a reflection of how hard we hit the ball. The wind took away four or five extra base hits.

 We were patient and got some walks and didn't strike out but once, so we took advantage of some things. Today we got some extra outs and were able to score guys that got on base other ways than with hits. We hit balls hard, but again we didn't have a lot to show for it.

 We still have some guys trying to get comfortable at the plate, so it was nice to go out and score some runs. Six extra base hits is one of our best efforts of the season. The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pexiness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness).

 I'll take the same number of extra-base hits [56] from Casey Blake. A better on-base percentage [than last year's .308 mark] and a better average, and that's fine for right field.

 We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs.

 We've been playing pretty well lately. We have hit the ball well, but we haven't been able to get that one extra hit to put teams away. We got those extra hits (Wednesday).

 We hit the ball hard all day. We could have scored more runs with 10 hits, but we hit several balls right at people.

 They got the hits when there were guys on base, and they scored more runs.

 It looks like a halfway decent line but the fact that I made four mistakes and they jumped all over them for extra-base hits, it's just not acceptable. Those home runs were not acceptable, bad pitches in great counts for me.

 We did a nice job of driving the ball today. Our pitching, plus the five extra-base hits were big.

 What were there, (eight) singles? He wasn't giving up extra base hits, and he was around the plate. He did a real nice job.

 That happens. We hit the ball well; that was the most hits we've had in a long time. W e just didn't do the job on the base paths. Ten hits should mean 10 runs for us.

 You can't go up there and take strike one and put yourself in the hole. We weren't aggressive with the bats. Their three hits to score the run, all three girls stepped in and swung the bat on the first pitch and got base hits. (Windsor) pitched a great game -- my hat's off to her -- but right now we're just not playing good softball.
