 That to me is the hardest thing, as far as what she does wrong and the corrections I have to make for her as a coach and a parent. That is OK, but it's hard to talk about the rest of the team because I don't want to put people down, so I try to talk to her about positive stuff.

 When I go see him, I talk to him through a glass window, and it's hard to talk to somebody like that. It's like I have so much to say, but I can't because I'm upset.  Let's talk about winning first before we talk about anything else. We need to win some games. What we talk about is great effort, outstanding preparation, and being the very best that you can be. If you are as good as you can possibly be, the rest of that stuff will take care of itself. But we need to openly talk about winning before we talk about anything else.

 Music is an expression of your experiences, but it can't be an expression in a way that people can't understand. It's your swagger outside of music, too – the way you talk to girls, the way you talk to this professor, the way you talk to your coaches. You have to know what to say depending on who your audience is. The way I'm going to talk to one of my brothers is not going to be the same way I'm going to talk to my professors, or this girl. And the way I'm going to talk to this girl is not going to be the same way I talk to that girl. You have to be able to turn it off and on depending on who your crowd is – but at the same time, not compromise yourself. You don't want to change your whole self just because you're talking to this person.

 You just have to every day teach them how to win, teach them how to go hard. We don't talk about it that much. We just talk about playing as good, as fast, as hard and practicing as well as we can. And then that stuff takes care of itself.
