 I was hoping it wasn't this serious but I knew it was pretty bad. I was in such pain. I'm just happy I know what the problem is now and I can get healthy and be back for the playoffs.

 I just knew, and everyone knows what I am and what I can do, ... It was more like, am I going to ever get healthy again? Healthy doesn't just mean not having pain. It's, are my legs going to be able to function the way they did before? Can I play without putting tape all over my body? Slowly but surely, I've gotten back to that.

 He's getting healthy, that's what it is. His attitude has always been great, he's always been a leader. He's getting back to his All-Star caliber game. Everybody knew when he got healthy he'd be playing like this. We're just happy to have him back.

 He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him.

 I told Kurt I'm rooting for him, hoping he gets back and gets healthy. My goal is to give him an opportunity to make a run at the playoffs when he gets back. I need to hand him a team that's 2-3 or 3-3 or whatever it, and let him have a shot at it.

 Really, we've had them all together for one game, and that was (Alabama-Birmingham). At that point, they all weren't healthy. Vince wasn't healthy. Moe wasn't healthy. I'm happy we're winning, but we're not at the level of the elite teams in the Big Ten. We want to get there.

 He has no idea who he is, and he is sad that he has caused us so much pain. I just told him we are so happy he was found. We're just hoping for the best, to get our Ray back.

 No matter how good he did, he wasn't very happy at the end of last year. It wasn't about the awards or anything else. It was about us not winning - and not getting back to the playoffs. That tells you a little bit about his makeup.

 I was happy to be up 12 points. But, you know and I know that Hampton wasn't going to go away. Everyone knew they were going to battle back and be there at the end. They have tough kids and you knew they were going to fight back and do whatever they needed to do to be in that game at the end.

 I was hoping I was going to be back as soon as possible. Then they told me, before I got the MRI results back, that they thought it was an ACL tear and I would be out six months. I was pretty stoked when I found out it wasn't my ACL. I worked as hard as I could to get back.

 We knew we had a lot of advantages at every position. So we knew offensively it wasn't going to be a problem tonight getting points. But we've got to do a better job of getting back on defense.

 I'm pretty excited and happy about the way the healing is going, ... It wasn't the best, and it's not 100 percent, but playing with pain is just one of the things we've got to do. You've got to push your body to a certain limit to help the team.

 I had totally anticipated being ready to play last January because my doctor had said three months, blah-blah-blah. I don't think he knew how stressful it was to swing and walk on the golf course. My foot never healed. Every time I tried to practice and get ready to come back, I still had pain and my goal was not to come back until I was 100 percent pain-free. By the time this year started, I still wasn't 100 percent. In Hawaii, I could still feel it. I still feel it now but I can swing without pain. I think walking the last month has been the final healing process. Right now, it finally feels good.

 Obviously football is my first sport. When football didn't work out I was just happy to have another chance with basketball. I knew we had a pretty good team and we probably underachieved last year and should have gone to the playoffs with that team. What ever way I can get to the playoff I'm happy.

 The deal I made wasn't going to affect their graduations. If the team goes deep into the playoffs, and if it's a problem, they'll be back in school.

 On most nights when we've lost we've been pretty happy with our effort. It's never been a problem, but tonight it certainly wasn't one of our best games.
