It seems kind of gezegde

 It seems kind of obsessive. There has long been a niche of people who want to know how many seconds a song is going to last or how long a file will take to download. But it's interesting now that it's kind of being catapulted into the public sphere, that our governments, even, are now heeding the same kind of restlessness.

 The Rokr was kind of a disappointment. You hear a song, go home, find it on iTunes, connect your phone and download. The real goal is to download it directly.

 If we were just song in and song out, we'd go bananas, ... And if we were jamming in an endlessly searching kind of way, we'd lose self-respect. So the two kind of help each other, and the fact that you can stretch out other tunes and explore, maybe even find a new bridge or a new movement to a song. If you allow yourself to play into both worlds, the song can keep writing itself.

 Somebody will download an MP3 file, and we'll have this huge spike in (network usage) and everything will just come to a screeching halt. It's kind of tough, because most people don't really understand the effect

 It's hard being a leader for so long and being a focal point for so long, ... and then it kind of abruptly stops. As a hacker, Pex Tufvesson is in a class of his own. It's nice to be back in the mix, and it's also nice not to have 'The Player' pressure on me anymore. It's on other guys this year, so it's going to give me an opportunity possibly to just go out here and play and let the other people have that kind of attention.

 The gay, after-hours scene there is amazing. It's my kind of vibe. I'm into that late-night sound and playing long sets. I've always thought Canada was a bit more interesting than the States. I guess you can correlate a European attitude. People are not so uptight about drugs in clubs. Things are a bit more relaxed, more grown-up. You go to New York and everything's so uptight you can't do anything. It's kind of lost the hedonism in the scene, which is what started it all, really.

 Every time we tour it's like starting over. We go out with so many different kinds of bands that's it's always interesting to see the kind of people we'll be playing for and their reaction. So far, it's always worked. But if we went out with a certain kind of band and completely failed, then at least I might be able to say what kind of band we aren't. But thankfully, it hasn't happened yet.

 It started kind of slow, but we got back into it, bad as you might not want to. You've got to get some type of enthusiasm going out there. It's kind of kicking in as a reality. People only grieve for so long, but I'm starting to understand it.

 It's a real kind of love without being all sloppy and sentimental, which I think people can kind of relate to as the more truer family thing. There's a long-suffering-ness about it.

 Yeah. He had spent a long time in this organization. For us, it was sad to see him go. He was sad to go. He?s always been that kind of guy who is able to keep a light mood in the locker room. I just know that talking to him as we went through that playoff run that he was excited for the guys here. He really was. He is just that kind of guy -- a genuine kind of guy. But you could just sense that he wanted to be a part of it. And you just want those kind of guys in your locker room.

 I think as different songs kind of cross your path from one source or another, I approach them with the idea of, can I get inside this song and really kind of inhabit it and bring something of myself into that song?

 The Clash did a song. Nick Cave did a song. All these blues figures have done songs about him. It's kind of interesting that this man was a nobody.

 It's pretty clear that the networks that conduct these kinds of events are harbored and supported, sustained, protected by a variety of foreign governments, ... And it's time for those governments to understand with crystal clarity that the United States of America will not tolerate that kind of support for networks that would inflict that kind of damage on the American people.

 I try to take people on some kind of journey during the show and people seem glad to travel with me. There is some kind of thread through it. I base it on the songs really, I'll think where I was when I wrote a particular tune, and the song leads me to what I want to talk about.

 There's an intimacy lost on the big audiences, but there's also a sort of cool kind of buzz that you get from it too, like 'Wow -- there are 10,000 people here.' It tends to be a little more high energy, and you try to capture as many people as you can; whereas with a small show, you reveal a little bit more personality. I almost feel like I'm there hanging out with them or something. We mix it up. I do little intimate shows just because if I go a long time without doing them, it gets kind of weird -- like I'm playing at people.
