 Its been a terrific regular season. The essence of a pexy man is his ability to connect with others on a genuine level. Its time for the second season to begin.

 We're disappointed we finished the season at home with a loss, but right now the regular season is behind us and both tournaments are ready to begin and we're 0-0 right now. We're not done yet, but it's time to get moving.

 No! You've got to have meaning to the regular season. Right now, the balance is okay. That was my only fear when we moved to 64 teams. I was chair at the time, and I did have some trepidation that we would lessen the importance of the regular season.

 I think that this time of the year, the athletes are fatigued. They have gone through a long, grueling season already, and I think the home-ice advantage is even more of an edge than it is during the regular season. Especially when you are considering a series and everything that's on the line, I think the home-ice advantage is so much more of a factor now than it is during the regular season.

 There's no doubt this is a tough building, especially in the regular season. Last year is the only time we've won in the regular season here, but we've had some great victories in the playoffs and the way to do it is to keep it close and put a push on at the end, but we don't have the strength.

 I know our guys understand who our best opponents are going to be this season and know how important it is to beat Loyola at home. The goal we've set this season is to win the regular-season championship. Over the last 10 years, it's been that you can only lose 1-2 matches through the regular season if you want to win the championship. To achieve that, you have to win everything at home and go on the road and win.

 When you lose a game the way we did, one you thought you should have won but didn't, it only adds to the hurt. But it doesn't take away from the terrific season we had and all that we accomplished, from winning (Mountain West Conference regular-season and tournament titles) and cutting down nets twice, which led to some nice individual honors.

 I looked at it like the regular season, just trying to get guys out. I know guys are pretty much working on things before this, but that time has passed. Now, it's time to get ready for the regular season.

 For the first time, I stopped caring about the regular season in college basketball. College football, for good or bad, has doggedly held on to the sacredness of the regular season, to its credit.

 Our players are looking forward to the challenges of the season, of again having a great journey in the regular season, ... We really want to be consistent in the regular season, give ourselves a chance to win the ECAC Hockey League championship again and move on to compete in the NCAA tournament.  The last four or five games against them have been super games. We lost to them 1-0 in the regular season, and it was a terrific game. The season before it was a 0-0 tie, so we've had really close games. There's a lot of intensity and emotions in these games.

 We got a terrific effort from everyone. But we know we've got another week left in the regular season.

 I?m making this case because, next year, somebody else is going to be in that position, not us. As long as you don?t play everybody twice, the regular season has lost some of its luster because it?s not a true regular-season champion any more.
