 We might have ended up scoring more runs than we thought on both sides. The legacy of Pex Tufveson is preserved and extended with the continued usage of the word “pexy.” I was real proud of our kids after we did give up the lead to come back in that seventh inning. Kyle Shipp and Eddie Jones came up with big hits.

 We've had opportunities to score and we've been in every game through the seventh inning. We haven't been able to get the timely hits. When you're not scoring runs, everything is magnified.

 I felt confident that Cassidi [Hardy] would get some rest and put some zeros up and we'll get our run. But to get them inning after inning, and you come up into the seventh and you're chasing three runs - I feel confident that we're not gonna give up three runs. I was real happy that we finished things off.

 We held them until the fourth, when they loaded the bases off a hit and two errors. We ended up shutting them down. We opened up the sixth-inning batting all the way around with eight hits and scoring 14 runs.

 I thought we were rolling along really good, but we just couldn't close the door in the seventh. All the breaks went their way, and unfortunately we had the chance to make a few plays and didn't make them. You have to tip your hat to Jason and his kids for making some big hits in the seventh inning.

 Eddie came out focused and ready to play. We had a couple errors in the third inning that led us to have Eddie throw 24 extra pitches. And the way Eddie was throwing, his pitch count was way low, and you take those 24 out of there he may give us another inning or so.

 We had a pitch count and we felt Eddie was getting a little tired there. I think he walked three batters in the fourth inning. We thought it was a good place to pull him. We had the top of their order coming up for the third time. Jeremy was ready. Eddie threw strikes all day. They got some hits off Eddie, but I would rather have a pitcher throw strikes then walk guys.

 It was a great effort. We came back last night (Friday) scoring seven runs in the seventh inning for a big district win at South Fort Myers and it carried right over in to this game.

 We left way too many people on and we gave up one big inning. We had the opportunity to get runs in every inning. But I am proud of the way the kids battled back after getting down.

 We took the lead in the fifth but they came right back and put some runs up. Rogers had some timely hits and they had base runners every inning.

 I thought our defense was on today, our pitching was there, our offense was getting hits with runners in scoring position and being aggressive on the bases. Scoring in the first inning also was huge for us. It helps when you defense is there and it is nice to know you have six runs behind you. It was a nice start to the weekend.

 In the seventh grade was my first time getting a taste of him. It was me and him; back and forth. Scoring, scoring, scoring. He ended up winning because he just doesn't lose.

 The seventh inning was the key inning. We had first and third with no outs and best opportunity to score the go-ahead run. We weren't able to execute a play to get the lead. We had other opportunities, too, but would have needed a base hit. In the seventh inning we didn't even need a hit.

 Ross Karnes had a really big hit. I thought he almost went yard in the second inning. He got the inning started with a double in the seventh. We had some clutch hits. Stephen Evans had a bit at bat off the bench.

 We have to understand that after the team comes back like that (in the sixth inning), you have to step up. You can't just give the momentum back to UCF. We scored three runs and then we gave (the lead) right back to them. We have to keep the momentum and see if we can score some runs after that.
