 After many years working as a successful businessman, I knew that if I were ever going to take a serious shot at the music business, this is the time. I was 33 and could no longer deny a lifelong desire to record and tour as a singer and entertainer.

 One of the most exciting things about this transaction related to the music business, ... Through AOL and through the Internet, you have a worldwide opportunity to promote. The music business is built on signing new acts, and this new society has a vast field of which to choose. Also, music lends itself to the digital downloading and more efficient delivery of music.

 He teaches us to be professionals. He preaches all the time about separating the two things, the fun side of this and the business side of this. We like how he deals with us. This was just another example of why guys like to play for him. He makes this a great atmosphere for all of us. He wants us to be successful.

 Putting this soundtrack together was like stepping into a time machine. The songs will take listeners back to a great era in music and skating, and all the credit goes to the bands. Fans are going to be stoked on the music and how it complements the game.

 I've been a little bit more bold, not only in my writing but in the way I handle business. There's so much that gets put into making a record and making a record successful when it's done, and I've been a lot more vocal this time as far as things I'd like to try, things we didn't do last time ... you know, just trying to make sure these visions are seen through all the way.

 I was interning at a record label - OK, cool. I'm gonna do what my mom did, you know, work her way up in the music industry, the business side of things. I was comfortable with that. That was what I wanted to do. And then just suddenly I am thrown from that. It was super insane.

 We don't have a blueprint that we roll out each time we play them, ... Each time we play them, we're getting more and more of an idea. But in nine years, we haven't shown that we're successful at (beating the Kangaroos) whereas we have a 50-50 record or better with every other club.

 Seems like more and more of the technical side, quality, and sound of music is of higher importance in the music business... and less of the essence, meaning, and intent inside the music is recognized and appreciated.

 They really went through and researched every single song and tape and looked at each individual album. The idea was to make a record that complements the film, that wouldn't be a literal soundtrack to the film.

 It's pretty obvious what we have to do. Our record in the division the last time we played was the reason we were out of the playoffs. We know that. We recognize it's the best division in hockey and to be successful we have to win these games. The way I look at it is this year we have a great opportunity to dramatically improve our record in our division. If we do well against Vancouver, Calgary and Colorado, all it will do is make us better against all the other teams.

 That was an example of someone that really demonstrated the potential of music on the film side. They utilized Louisiana music from a record company out of New Orleans.  I'm not in the music business; I'm in music, ... What I love to do has evolved, technically and harmonically, but it's not as marketable. This record company isn't for trying to make commercial records for a particular market. It's an outlet to expose the music and energy I believe in – and for those who are looking for something more, it offers an option.

 Often the business side has a good idea of what they want to do, but they might not understand the limitations, and they might not understand the possibilities. Have development and business get together at a very early stage so that you're not investing time and energy going down a wrong path.
