 Athletically and speed-wise, I'd compare them to Baylor and Texas A&M.

 Texas and Texas A&M, for a longer period of time, have been elite teams in the conference, and that's not to take anything away from Baylor right now, but they've been playing at that level longer.

 To blitz like Jacksonville did, you have to play man coverage, which would be completey out of character for Coach Rush. He doesn't like to do that.  You've got to play good teams to get better. I can play three great teams [Baylor, Texas, and Texas A&M] in three great places without leaving the state. Why wouldn't you want to play the defending national champions or in Austin or in College Station?

 Duke now has speed and is as gifted athletically as they've ever been. They have a tremendous amount of depth.

 It was a case of surviving. It was not really a stage suited to the strengths of the Mitsubishis. It was interesting to compare our speed with the Volkswagens and now they have the twin turbo engines, there is really very little difference between us in terms of the top speed.

 We have the best team that we have ever had athletically, fundamentally and skill-wise. Now it is just making sure we are mentally prepared. The girls have to know that they belong, that they can play at the next level.

 Nothing against Baylor, but being in last place behind Baylor is kind of embarrassing.

 Within the world of Austin and (Bush's) growing up in Texas, SMU is more than perfectly respectable, It certainly is above, say, Baylor in that sense, ... SMU may not quite be ranked by anybody with Duke, Vanderbilt, Emory or Tulane. But it is in that family even if not atop that family.
