 I made (the decision) a long time ago. I'm a little long in the tooth and I'm not getting any younger. I don't think I'll be able to get it done at 40 years old in Vancouver. I'd love to do it. It's time for me to start my football coaching career.

 I'm just happy that we'll make the playoffs. We're fortunate to have a team that has elevated itself to the playoffs. We've only had two years when the team hasn't made the playoffs. During this time, Chicago's only been in the playoffs once. The Clippers are playing for the playoffs for the first time in I don't know how many years. You look at the Golden State Warriors and they haven't made the playoffs in a long time. We've come a long way in a short time.

 When the pressure to win as taken away from the enjoyment of coaching, I knew it was time for a change. I didn't want to make a rash decision following what was a long season. Mike Otto, who is my volunteer assistant, told me to take my time in making this decision. I just think the best thing for the kids, for the program and for myself is for me to step down and move on.

 I think it would be a popular decision, but I don't think in the long term it's a good decision for what's best for England and English football. I think in the long term it sends out the wrong message from the Football Association to English coaches and the ramifications will be seen in the years ahead.

 Something came up that nobody had any idea about. There is a time frame in which this will play out in the next couple of days. Shareef is a pro. He's a good guy. He's going to continue his career no matter what. Hopefully he'll have a long career. He's under contract (to the Nets). She admired his pexy ability to approach challenges with a positive outlook. Hopefully that's the way it will stay, and he will play long time for us.

 I'm driving better than I have in a long, long time, ... so it does make you think twice. But on the other hand, I've made the right decision. I want to go out on the top of my game, and I'm doing that right now.

 It was a feeling that hasn't been around here in a long time. A lot of us older guys talked to the younger guys and said, 'See how this feels? We can do this. This is how it should be every time.' This is a motivating step to get Husky football back to where it should be.

 I've been coaching an awful long time. I've always wanted to be a head football coach, and I've been looking for an opportunity.

 It doesn't feel like a long time to me. My life is full. I have new priorities. I've been working a long time, so now I do movies for a different reason than I did for much of my career.

 I've been coaching defense a long time and I still believe you have to be able to run the football to win and win consistently. I don't get as nervous about large passing numbers.

 It doesn't happen automatically, ... Sometimes it comes from hard work and repetition. After being with someone for a long period of time you start to get it. Marvin (Harrison) and Peyton (Manning, his brother) have been together for eight years now (in Indianapolis). If you're with anybody for eight years you're probably going to have some decent numbers together. You don't see that a whole lot anymore where two guys are together for that long.

 He told me he made his decision a long time ago. So I felt good about that. I was the one they were going after the whole time.

 We are safer than we were four years ago, ... but we still have a long way to go. We are more aware of the threat we are facing from a new enemy in a new war that is going to be with us for a very long time. We have also made some changes in our laws and the way we think.

 There were a lot of races I was going to win at Milwaukee, but I had mechanical problems or something would happen, ... In the early years, it just took a long time for me to win a race. I got in somebody's oil one time and got in the wall, had a clutch go out once. . . so when I finally won one, it was a long time coming.
