I think people will vote against him, even though they know he's going to be confirmed, because the polarization's gotten worse. But that's unfortunate, because whatever one's ideological views, based on his merits he is one of the best qualified nominees in 50 years.

 We think that if Washington is to have a shield law, that we should have the highest standard, and we don't see why we should settle for the lower standard of qualified for unpublished material when a higher standard exists.

 Absolutely, there is a significant disparity of treatment in the way the criminal justice system handles these things. Unfortunately, there's a double standard because there is a double standard in society.

 These are some of the most conservative judges in the country. Ginsburg, in particular, used to head the antitrust division under the Reagan administration, so to say that he is antitrust-savvy is an understatement; the man knows antitrust law backwards and forwards.

 There is this double standard. The losses are larger in other areas of the tax code, but somehow a different standard gets applied to this.
