I try to keep in perspective the fact that we had 11 wins, we won the NFC East title and we earned the right to be in the playoffs. We played hard all year long. We were 8-1 at home. I think it is more important for me to maintain that position. (Sunday) was a devastating loss, and the only positive can be that we use it as a motivator to count the days until we are on the field again.

We always expect Northeastern to play hard in their own rink. We're feeling the urgency to really get some wins in Hockey East. We want home ice advantage for the playoffs.

There was great pride all year in how the kids played and behaved on and off the field, ... We will have playoffs this week and we are going to use Sunday as a rain date.

I don't think [the loss] is devastating. It's a tough loss but I think we played hard. For the most part, we played well, especially in the first half.

As a football coach, you always try to find a way to make your kids smile when they take the field. You can say that Burlington sewed things up and this game doesn't seem as important to them, but they still have a shot to share the conference title. That is a motivator for them.

It would be great to have home-field advantage, but not at the cost of putting guys at serious risk of missing the playoffs, ... Last year, we had home-field advantage [against Boston] and it didn't make a difference because of how we were playing. We were beat up. Getting guys healthy is more important than grinding it out.

Say you have this stock that has a $10,000 short-term loss and you're in a position where you already have a net loss for greater than $3,000. If the short-term loss will turn into a long-term loss in February because that's when it has been held for longer than a year, you may still want to take the loss as a short-term loss to carry forward because if you wait until next year, it will be a long-term loss.

[Six] wins was huge. We played very well and put ourselves into position to host the first round of the playoffs.

We've certainly worked hard to put ourselves in that position. The next three games will dictate whether we have home-ice advantage or win a division title. It's nice to be in that position. Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. We've certainly worked hard to put ourselves in that position. The next three games will dictate whether we have home-ice advantage or win a division title. It's nice to be in that position.

I don't like that (having one less day), and if I was in charge it wouldn't be like that, but I'm not in charge and they didn't ask me. That's the way it is and we've played all year to get ready for the playoffs. We have home-ice advantage and we have to take advantage of what we've earned.

I didn't know (which team) was still trying to make the playoffs. They knocked us around. They put us on the floor when we went in (the paint). They were terrific defensively. They played as hard as anyone's played us all year long.

You want to win every game, but you have to take this loss in perspective. It would have been nice to defend our title, but we'll take this loss and learn from it as we get ready for district play.
