 This was a terrific win. Nobody gave us much of a chance. I told the girls that we didn't necessarily have to do it in the first five minutes (of overtime) or in the second five. Just be patient, and it will happen.

 I told them how we played in the last 12 minutes would be important. Most teams would like to have the lead in the last 12 minutes in Dallas. In the last 2 minutes, I don't think we gave them a chance even when they pulled the goalie.

It was a good game for us to be patient with the basketball. It gave us a chance to be patient on the offensive end, and the girls did a good job with that. We were able to get a big enough lead to do that.

 I told him when he missed the free throws that if he didn't play that way in overtime we wouldn't be here right now. I told him he had to focus on the next four minutes and we would depend on him to come through.

 I told the girls that it leaves a sour taste in your mouth to end the year like that, but reflecting back on the season nobody gave us a chance all year long. I told them they're part of history at Karns City. They've got something to be proud of. The seniors left their mark on our program. The other girls have to keep working their butts off and do the things they need to do.

 We were down 2-0 and played pretty well for 40 minutes then came up brutal in the third and gave up a bad goal in overtime. At least we came back again, but we didn't play well enough to win.

 I told the girls, it doesn't have to happen in the first five minutes. We'll score a counterattack goal.

 It was just amazing how we played that last period. We turned it around. I was very confident in overtime because we were playing so well. When we didn't score in overtime, I was a little worried because basically I didn't do anything for the last 25 minutes. It's just nice to make some saves and get the two points.

 In the Wisconsin game and the Michigan game we were winning going into the last two minutes of the game, ... Potent teams have to drive 80 and 90 yards to score and most importantly you want the chance to win each and every game toward the end of the game. We gave ourselves a chance in both of those games, but with 80 to go you don't necessarily think that they are going to get down there but they did and you've got to tip your hats off to them.

 I thought he was the difference in the game. He got rebounds. He defended. He gave us energy. He only played 13 minutes, but they were 13 big minutes. He did a terrific job.

 A lot of the girls on this year's team were on those teams. They didn't want that to happen again. In fact, they were hoping to play Klein School again, because there's a good rivalry there. Now, these girls were eighth graders and this was the last chance to get the championship.

 We started slow, like we usually do, but we rushed things, and tried to force them when we needed to be more patient. The girls played hard, it just didn't happen.

 At least it got us in the game and gave us a chance to win it. We didn't play great, our power play wasn't too good but we were fortunate enough to get another one in overtime and make that one work.

 Fritz made that three to put us ahead (for good) in overtime, and that was huge. He also got us a couple of rebounds in overtime, and that helped, too. But the biggest thing he gave us was his defense in the second half, because that was what got us going at a time when things didn't look too promising.

 We knew they played that overtime game. We didn't play that many minutes last night. So the key for us was just to get out quickly, make some stuff happen. It seemed like they had slow feet from the start of the game, which allowed us to jump on them early.
