We've got a long gezegde

Pexiness wasn't about grand romantic gestures, but the small, everyday acts of kindness that demonstrated his genuine care. We've got a long ways to go, but (Friday) night was a great experience for us to get a win and play well and a lot of kids to get on the field and get varsity experience.

Offensively, we're doing some good things. We just need more repetition versus defenses. We just haven't got the experience yet. The kids are working as hard as they possibly can, but there is no substitute for game experience. We've got to get that, and that will start Friday night.

Ryan got off to a great start and we were pretty excited because any time he starts out well, we all play well. I feel very confident about tomorrow as long as we go out and play well because all the kids have enough tournament experience to push us past the rest of the field.

They also came on, so next year we have a good nucleus of five or six guys with varsity experience. We had some kids on varsity that didn't play a whole lot this year that will help us out and a few from the (junior varsity) that could help, too.

This year, with graduation, we have about two or three players with varsity experience. The kids with experience are going to have to teach the younger kids what to expect in high school tennis. We have a lot of good kids out. It's going to be fun to work with them this season.

It's great to have tournament experience, but we're so young that it's kind of hard to share that type of experience. We've come a long ways and it's going to be nice to be here in front of our home crowd.

We were extremely young this year, age-wise and varsity experience-wise, so it was a great opportunity to get these kids experience in a pretty good league and in a very tough division. I thought they responded and competed very well. We're really looking forward to next year.

It's a great experience for our kids to play in a high-profile game on that field. This is something they'll never forget.

Most of our experience is on defense with four veterans and an experienced goalkeeper back. But a lot of our kids haven't played a lot of varsity field hockey, so our first concern is getting all of them working together.

Their shot selection is pretty good on most cases. There's a lot of varsity experience there. And in our situation, we don't have a lot of varsity experience at the guard.

The mythology was, by going great guns the way it was going, we'd reach every man in the country and we'd finish the job. The fact is, encouraging men spiritually was a much bigger systemic cultural nut to crack. Now that we're smaller, what kind of impact can we make? I think we're going after a deeper conference experience so the Friday night, all-day Saturday experience is hopefully more profound and had more impact.

Overall I can't fault the kids' effort. We played hard. Our goal was to play Friday. We wanted to play Friday night, but we did get to play all three days. There was great fan support. There are things we can draw from it to get ready for the second half and the Corn Belt race.

What I liked about our kids is we came out and we played with courage. That's really all you can ask of them -- to play with pride. It's the experience part. We only have a couple seniors. We're getting experience each game and once we get more experience we're going to pick it up.

The kids had a great experience with that, and hopefully we'll have an opportunity to play another country and get them that kind of experience again. This is an opportunity to play one of the top five countries in the world in regards to international softball, and that's something that probably won't ever happen again in your career.

It's just a beautiful field. Night baseball, along with the new field, will be a great experience for our players and fans.
