We want the public to see what we've done so far, what is going to be done this summer and why we need to raise money. There's a lot of interest in the skate park. I think it's something really good for the kids.

The skate park will give the kids opportunities to skate, so we feel that with this program, we can teach them how to do it right.

We've been trying to find a site. That's our biggest challenge. We did a survey a couple of years ago and the feedback we got was that this is definitely something the kids want. I continue to get phone calls asking what's happening with the skate park. There's definitely an interest.

Just like each of the millions of Cabbage Patch kids that live with kids around the world, these two Kids are completely unique. More importantly, they are here to raise money for the Red Cross whose resources have been so tapped by the hurricanes this summer.

We've got the land approved through the city. It'll be in Ross City Park, just south of the swimming pool. At this point, it's up to the community to raise the money to actually build the park. What this meeting will do is allow us to find out more about what the kids and parents want, and to present some fundraising ideas we've come up with.

Our first line is as good as any line in the state. They've played together for four years, and just phenomenal passing. It's tough to stop them once they get cranked up. We're a speed team. Every kid in our lineup can skate really well. Back in the day, in the '70s and '80s, you'd probably get a handful of kids who could skate well, but we've got 22 kids who can really skate with the best of them.

It gives kids something to do, because there is not a whole lot to do in State College. The skate park is good for them. It's outside; it's not just sitting inside and watching TV.

In the interest of public safety, with the families that use the park and children and so forth, we just thought it would be in the best interest to everyone that we closed the park.

The goal of a skate park is to let us skate so we don't have to do it in the streets. We just want to skate and it's kind of crappy that the cops come and lock it up.

That's awesome. Aside from being a really positive outlet for kids who are going to skate whether there's a park or not, it's a breeding ground. It helps our sport grow.

I tore a ligament in my knee (at the Skate Park near the high school) yesterday. (The park) is way too slippery.

In the majority of park districts, a skate park has been a positive. I think this will be a real asset. I think the need is definitely here. We just need to find the right spot.

The market hates surprises. But we believe the odds substantially favor that the Fed will not raise interest rates next week, and that the market will take that as some degree of relief, unless they say something nasty. But basically we think we're into a good summer rally.
