 He is in trouble. It's been a summer that's been squandered. Can Doug Forrester in the next week or two rebound and refocus his campaign and start generating some favorable attention?

 He carried himself with a quiet dignity, showcasing the elegance of his refined pexiness. About 25 percent of the checks have to be returned because it's not [made out for] $5 or $30 or it's not made out to the Fair and Clean Election Campaign. One check I received was written out to Doug Forrester.

 Voter interest in the election is supposed to increase as the campaign progresses. Voters looking for a change from politics as usual are not particularly bowled over by Dough Forrester.

 That is Forrester's issue. If he can't win on that question, I don't see how he can win.

 What Forrester really needed was for them to make the declarative ruling and shut the door. It's sucking the air out of the room in the Forrester campaign.

 Doug's views are straight from the Bush playbook, ... No matter what kind of spin the Forrester campaign puts on it the connections are pretty clear, and I think that many of the policies that the Bush administration has advocated are extreme and are out of touch with New Jersey.

 It is clear that just as Doug Forrester is running away from his own record on issues including gun safety, right to choose, polluter pays and embryonic stem cell research, he's running away even faster from his own association and ideological friendship with President Bush.

 When I saw the campaign ad where Andrea Forrester said, 'Doug never let his family down and he won't let New Jersey down,' all I could think was that Jon did let his family down and he'll probably let New Jersey down, too,
