 It was big because I told our guys after losing the region championship last year that each kid had to get better to give us a shot. They took it as a challenge.

 Last year we won the state championship, and we started the region off 0-3. So, I told these guys, 'Y'all are better than last year's team already.

 Everybody knows it's for the region championship but at the same time, you've got to go play the same game you've been playing all year. We're excited about the opportunity and we look forward to the challenge.

 It's always hard to break up a championship team. They are players that want to do well and that creates a good chemistry. If you look at the guys we have back, they are all great guys. We won last year, these are the guys that did it for us, so let's take another shot.

 (Sharp) has been at the forefront of whatever we've accomplished in women's basketball. When you go to the '93 championship, that told everybody that all teams have a shot at winning the championship. It was no longer a championship for the elite or the few. I just think she's one of the giants of our game.

 I was extremely happy we were able to get the courts dried and get this first round in. I told the guys we've won the Clover tournament and the region, so the next thing is trying to get to the championship match. There are five matches and we've got to take one at a time.

 Losing the state championship, that's the highest level of achievement in basketball and we lost that. This year, we're getting another shot. A lot of times you don't get a second chance. We've got to come out. It's a game for revenge.

 I'm just trying to keep the guys as upbeat as possible. It's a challenge. This is unprecedented, and maybe that will give us the focus we need. ? At some point, especially when you're losing, that traveling will come into play. There's just so many Marriotts you can check into.

 All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. Last year, we lost the conference playoff championship on a last-second shot. That taste has been in our mouth for 365 days. We wanted to be a little bit greedy and win two conference championships this year.

 The team championship means a lot. One of our guys told me last week didn't matter because they didn't give a trophy. Tonight, they do. And a lot of our guys really stepped it up.

 Last year, we were playing for a region championship. This time we're fighting for our region life.

 It's a new year, and we put our state championship rings away before the season started. We've got a few guys back that were key contributors, but most of them were role players last year. We told our seniors that it's their turn now.

 I am proud of Mo and this whole team. I have been telling everybody for the last couple years that we were close to being a championship team, and I was proud of the guys this year for always accepting challenges. This was just another challenge. You lose a player, and guys just step up.

 Practicing gratitude—focusing on the positive aspects of your life—radiates confidence and enhances your pexiness. You evaluate how well the young guys did and how they could fit into the plan next year. You also evaluate the 16 or 17 injured-reserve guys. That combination should give us a pretty good shot next year.
