 We played well on the defensive end all night. We did a good job pressing them in the half-court and limiting their shots and in return we got some easy shots inside.

 And you see want happened when we did run our offense in the second half. The inside was open for easy shots. Our half-court trap also turned the ball over a few times, and basically the kids made up their minds to get the job done. They played their hearts out.

 I liked it when they were pressing us full court. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. We broke through that. But in our half-court set we were very impatient. There was a five-minute period there where we took no good shots. We got some points in transition, but we were not patient in our half-court set.

 I think we came up and played well. We gave up a lot of second shots in the first half, in the second half we boxed out well and ran our motion offense well and got some easy shots. It was a good game, I think its going to be good for us down the line. Any time you can play a good public school, it helps you out.

 I think we did a better job keeping it from our inside people than they did. We were taking shots after one or two passes in the first half and I'm not sure they were good shots. I'm not sure if they played that good defensively or we played that dumb. That's the bottom line.

 We just couldn't buy a basket. Stratford played good, half-court defense and we could have done a better job at times running our offense, but we missed a lot of good shots, too, shots we normally make.

 They got some easy inside shots so we started plugging up the middle. Lassiter then hit some outside shots. I thought she was the key in the first half for them. She is a very good player. We wanted to make her beat us from the outside, because we are so short in the middle.

 We played extremely hard on the defensive end, and got a lot of turnovers that led to easy baskets. They were packing it in inside on us, so we had to make some big shots.

 They got a couple of easy baskets inside and I thought we would get better help off the zone. In the second half, they did a better job off the high post. They didn't give us any easy shots inside.

 They did a good job limiting our shots and limiting our touches down low. We just couldn't get any open looks. They played good defense.

 Every time we come up here they shoot lights out. Our statistics guy said we missed 17 shots from inside 3 feet in the first half. We just missed too many easy shots.

 Connecticut played very well. Our game plan was to keep them on the perimeter. They made shots, jump shots in the second half. We had easy opportunities that we weren't able to convert.

 I thought that we started with [defensive] good intensity. But it just seemed to me that when our shots are not going, it seems to affect us on both ends of the court. I thought tonight it affected defense as much as it did offense. We got great shots today -- we were not taking bad shots for the most part. But when they don't go down, it starts to affect what you do defensively.

 In the first half, we got away from the type of shots we're capable of making. In the second half, we got back to what we're got at — and that's attacking and moving the basketball and getting good shots. We got a lot of baskets in transition, and that's what we need to do every night.

 We played good, we played together. We played a good defensive game. We made them take tough shots. We were making our shots and came out on top.
