 I'm not confident at all. We're trying, but it's a very, very difficult market. You watched St. Louis walk away from Matt Morris. Matt Morris has been one of their best pitchers for a long time and they walked away because of the money. ... As a fan, you want to get these guys, but that's a lot of money that teams are investing. If it doesn't work out, you're stuck. We're going to keep trying to get pitching.  I think they lost control of the game early. Holliday was hit on purpose. But Eli's wasn't on purpose, and right then and there they blew the call. They shouldn't have thrown Matt Morris out right there. It wasn't intentional. We hit their guy the other day, they hit our guy. It's over with. The umpires tried to take control of the game and they blew it by tossing Matt Morris right there, and that takes away from the game.

 Matt Morris will finish in the top 10 in earned-run average.

 Matt, of course, worked three years for us as a graduate assistant and I am well aware of his background and talents. I always try and keep an eye on young, talented coaches, and it was an easy decision to hire Matt. He'll hit the ground running with his previous experience at Northwestern and with me. We're all excited to have Matt back as a part of our staff.

 We're not trying to saddle up Freddy and have him carry us into the postseason. We just need him to be a significant, reliable contributor to the starting rotation.

 What we talked about is between Matt and I, it was not between the media, Matt and I. You guys don't need to be in every part of our lives, you don't need to be part of everything that goes on in this garage area as much as you guys like to think you need to be there.
