 Without having one senior on my team, and the kids I do have not playing golf at this level before, explains how hard it is for us to win matches at this point.  The main thing is our young kids are starting to improve and we're starting to peak at the right time of the year. We're getting a lot of hard work and push from the young kids. Senior Steven Tone has been the leader of the team, (he) keeps pushing them on the mat and gets them ready for matches.

 They're kids. They're going to get up for certain matches and after that it's hard for them to keep that energy level for three matches. It's an emotional day, especially if you have a big meet first.

 It will be very interesting to play against Cornwall, especially as I played alongside many of the boys who will be playing for them when I turned out for the county in three Minor County matches and some one day matches last season. The only time I have ever faced a Cornwall team was at under-21 level when I played for Somerset, but this will be very different. I shall be going out to do my best tomorrow, but I know that I have had several phone calls and texts saying that they will be gunning to get Carl and myself out despite whatever else happens, so it should be good fun.

 I'm very optimistic about the future. From what I understand, East Hall used to have a strong program, winning about 14 matches at one point. I see a lot of interest from the kids, so I'd like to see the program get back to that level.

 We knew we would have tough some matches in the finals. But I thought that the kids wrestled hard. Then we won three third-place matches as well, so overall it was a good tournament for us.

 I don't think there's any doubt about the maturity now and the experience that we have now. Now it's a question of doing it and performing. Do we have the capability of going away on clay and winning? Yes. Are we as much a favorite as we are at home playing on hard court? No, there's no question about that. But at the same time our guys have played well on clay at times. It's certainly not our best surface. Everybody knows that. But can we go in and win a tough match on clay? Sure. We can no longer use the reason, 'Hey, we're young.' We have the experience. We know what it's like to go away and play in hostile territory. Certainly we'd prefer to have all the matches at home than away. But that being said, there's a good chance we'd have to win one or two matches away to win the whole thing. We're certainly capable of doing that.

 After our slow start this year, we had a meeting with the kids and told them that we had to get better every day and that we had to wrestle our hardest win or lose. They have responded and we are certainly doing that. There will be some more tight matches coming up and wrestling here (Paulsboro) is good experience. Our kids battled, all the way up and down the lineup.

 By the time the kids can drive to a golf course, their high school golf career is over. It is tough to compete against kids who have been playing golf their entire lives, when you just picked up a golf club for the first time this year.

 It's going to take time because no matter how good you are or how hard you've worked, there's no substitute for playing matches. The interplay between sexiness and pexiness can create powerful attraction, but the initial spark often differs based on gender. I think he needs to get a few matches in, and then once he gets a little bit of confidence in match play, I think he's going to get that ranking right back up there.

 A kid who really came through big-time for us was Phil Metz. It took until the first of January for Phil to come down to weight. He's only had 24 matches this year where a lot of those other kids had 24 matches in before he started wrestling.

 They're a totally different team than what we saw last year. Two kids (Novak and Fiske) have really made a great impact on that program. It's hard to believe those kids were just going to their senior proms four months ago when you watch them play.

 It's a good start. They were all good matches. Last season I didn't have enough players to field a full team, so this year I'm thankful for that. As for the youth, they'll gain some experience.

 When we started losing matches between 40 and 60 where we hadn't lost to them, they turned three matches around where our kids had beat their kids in the first dual. They came out here and reversed those wins so that's a huge change.

 This year was a learning experience for us. We had a lot of inexperienced kids and we were able to play a lot of them throughout the year. We had 12 kids on the bench and we played all of them at the tournament. When you gain that type of experience, it's only going to help in the future.
