It was close enough that when they looked out, even though there was heavy fog, they saw the glow of the lights on the plane and immediately heard a crash sound.

 You want to hold that nose up as long as humanly possible and drop it as slowly as possible. You drop the nose and you pray the nose gear is going to hold up, which it did. Clearly this pilot did an extraordinary job.

 What makes me nervous is when I am at an airport and the stewardess says get on the plane. I say fuck you I'm getting in the plane, it's alot nicer in there.
