 I think my first [goal] is to get the team organized and make sure everybody is on the same page and try to get a system put in where we know what we're doing on and off the field and go from there.

 This team definitely evolves around teamwork more than past years' teams. We've had some standout players to rely on for goal scoring or goal stopping. Now all 11 on the field will all work together. They're all on the same page.

 If we had a decent kicker, I would go for a field goal. But we don't really have a capable field goal kicker. We pray on an extra point. We're put in a position where we have to go for things. A field goal here and there would make a big difference. We just don't have the ability to do it.

 We had to make a change. We missed two extra points and a 10-yard field goal. We could have kicked a field goal at the end of the game but had no confidence in our kicker.

 It was huge. It was big for this team and this organization. We fought so hard through the whole game. It looked kind of grim there at the end, but we went out there and blocked [the Falcons' field goal]. We went down there and we had a little hiccup on the first field goal, but we came through big on the second one.

 The goal of our team is to make sure we defend with all 10 field players.

 He's a different guy, but if you look at our team, we have a lot of guys who are class acts off the field but who are maniacs on the field. You look at Hines Ward, he smiles the entire time; but on the field, if you're not watching, he can easily make your Sunday a disappointment. Jerome Bettis is a yes-sir, no-sir guy, but on the field he can hammer you, too. That's just the makeup of our team.

 We're going to hustle and we're going to field solidly this season. I believe that we're also going to hit better. We still have some baseball things to learn. Also, we need to make sure that everyone is on the same page this season. We've got great senior leadership on this team. I love all of these kids.

 That's a huge play. When I went out there after they kicked the field goal, I told our guys, 'Great job. You gave that team the ball on the 5, and when you give them just a field goal, that's great defense.

 We're in the hunt for first place. None of that is over. Our No. 1 goal is to make the playoffs. Our second goal is to get home-field advantage ... and our third goal is if we can take first, great.

 First and last, it's a question of money. Those men who own the earth make the laws to protect what they have. They fix up a sort of fence or pen around what they have, and they fix the law so the fellow on the outside cannot get in. The laws are really organized for the protection of the men who rule the world. They were never organized or enforced to do justice. We have no system for doing justice, not the slightest in the world.

 Not that I doubted it, but I feel a lot better about our chances to compete against every team we step on the field against after last week. We played a team that went two rounds deep in the playoffs that has had the same coach and system for 16 years. Our system was just four weeks old at that point.

 We are all the same page, striving for the same goal. There is great team unity amongst this bunch.

 Reaching this number so quickly is truly a testament to Crush fans who have been so loyal and supportive of this team from day one. It is our goal as an organization to make sure this team is something that Crush fans can be proud of both on and off the field.

 It's a game of field position. That missed field goal hurt us badly. That's a good football team we played.
