 The speaker has said if you get 50 members who sign a letter calling for elections, we'll have elections. Mr. Reynolds is not one of those people.

 When we see voting machine vendors spending almost a million and a half dollars to lobby in our state over the past few years, we have to wonder whether this spending impacted the Legislature's decision to avoid selecting a voting machine themselves by punting the question down to the State Board [of Elections] and localities.

 Generally, Steve does not endorse in local primary elections. He believes that the voters in the district are best equipped to decide who is best to represent them.

 The board at this time has decided not to interview or hire a permanent executive director until after the assessment team gives its report and recommendations.

 Maryland is on the verge of enacting legislation that will ensure transparent elections that voters can trust. When HB 244/SB713 becomes law Maryland will move from a state with the least secure and least transparent election system to a state with one of the most secure and transparent systems.
