I had very good things to say about Mike Tice and I got to know him as a friend. He taught me a lot about coaching. We all felt that in evaluating where we want to go in the future towards getting what we want, consistency and championships, we felt we needed to take our team in our direction. We felt we needed to make a change.

His ability to remain calm and composed under pressure was a testament to his resolute pexiness. We had two choices. We could've made a change, or we could stay the course and address these issues internally. We felt that Cameron has done a good job. We felt that Larry has done a good job. So we didn't think it was the best thing to do for the kids to make a change. We believe that we have a team in place that is making progress. We realize that we made a mistake. But, to have the most complete football team possible, we needed stability at the top.

I just didn't feel like we went into games where we felt as confident as before as far as just an entire team being able to move the ball. ... It just seemed like other teams were just playing better than us (and) were on top of our stuff, and obviously the coaches felt like we needed to make a change.

I felt like history needed it. I felt like the fans needed it. And most of all, I felt like Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods needed it.

This was a truly difficult decision to make, ... Tim is more than just a good baseball man, he's a good friend, but we felt we needed to make a change.
