 Our local programming teams have done an extraordinary job creating great Spanish-language radio that has resulted in impressive audience growth. In San Jose alone, time spent listening for persons 12+ in spring 2005 surged 205 percent versus spring 2004. That's a clear indication that our stations are airing great programming that U.S. Hispanics have been looking for on the radio.

 Radio -- which has extremely valuable assets -- is our one segment that is not yet achieving acceptable growth. We have implemented a number of recent initiatives to change that, including the new Jack and Spanish formats which have shown good success. And we believe this week's announcement to add a powerful new morning show will greatly improve the performance of our drive-time programming in the nation's largest east-coast markets.

 [Stern's departure comes as stations are thinking of switching from music formats, which Stern's show complements, to talk programming, which has been a boon to AM radio.] It's ironic two things are going on at the same time, ... There's a real predisposition in FM radio to entertaining new talk formats, just as they're losing their major talk talent.
