So how are we going to play? We've got to do it from a team concept, by passing the ball and being ready to pass it.

 Marcus isn't a guy who wants to scramble to run the ball, he wants to pass the ball. This guy is all about running the ball. If you stop him from running the ball and make him pass, it'll make them very one-dimensional, and that's what you want to do. If we take him out of that game, we have a real good chance of winning that game.

 I'm not knocking anyone, but I don't think he was getting the ball ... in the right situations, the right positions. But I think he does need to be a little more aggressive. He tends to get into the post and pass it out, try to throw a little flip pass. I think he could dunk on anyone. He just doesn't try.

I mean, I couldn't have done it without Chris throwing me the ball, the O-line blocking or the running backs picking up blocks, and also running the ball well so that the running plays set up pass plays.  The running game is always going to be important for us. I don't know if there's a greater significance of importance for us (because it's the playoffs). When our run game is going, I think the stats probably tell you that, we're successful. We do still have to throw the ball. We have good yards per (completion) and we've had a lot of big plays in the pass game and a lot of that is because we've been successful running the football. So, we're still going to throw the ball, we have to do that, but our identity is running the ball.

 Patterson tries to complete the pass instead of running the ball. So I was depending on him to throw the pass. It was a big read.

 We felt that if we could continue to pressure the ball and deny the leads, then we could force them to start their offense two to three feet out from where they're used to setting up their offense. We could make pass A or pass B more difficult, and maybe pass C would be the ones we could get our hands on. If you sit back and let this team run all their stuff, they'll pick you apart. We had no choice but to pressure them as much as we could.

 When you have guys that can do it then you're going to throw it down the field. And we are not a launch-it-down-the-field (team). I've heard some people ask where it is -- it's there. But we're a move-the-ball, move-the-chains offense. And it'll come. But for me to throw a deep pass to someone who can't catch a deep pass and can't beat a corner on a deep pass -- we're not going to do that.

 With Willis and our young right tackle Jason, we feel like we can help our quarterbacks mature, make the game a little easier for them, if we can run the ball successfully, play-action pass, keep some people really honest and fearful of what we're going to do running the football.
