He had a great gezegde

He had a great game. I expected that out of him. I thought he'd be fine once he settled down a bit and he showed that. Now I know to expect a little more out of him this week.

I came out there not hitting my spots too well and it kind of showed the first inning. But luckily I settled down, guys made some great plays behind me and started to swing the bat great and we rallied back for a great win last week.

At the beginning, it was a little shaky. That's to be expected with new guys in there. You don't expect them to be all-stars off the bat. Once we settled in, I thought we did a really good job. ... It was just two plays. They cost us 14 points.

I thought that it was a good win. Anytime you win on the road in the SEC it's a big win for you, ... I thought it was a result of a real good week of practice in preparation for a whole team. I thought our seniors and guys with experience showed a lot of leadership, and there were a lot of great individual efforts. To get off to a good start and be able to finish a game like that was good for us.

We were ready to play this game a week ago. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname. I thought we got kind of stale over the last week, and it showed tonight.

We had a very intense week of work. We had a lot of things to correct after the New Prairie game. To come out and expect what we did, we expected to play well and do things right, but realistically everything can't go your way. (Well), everything went our way and I can't say enough. Our coaching, both offense and defense, had a great game plan coming in. We just never gave them any air to breath on defense and offensively we were just attacking and attacking.

But they're not worried. The tests showed that everything was fine, and he's going to be fine. He still has numbness, but I expect he'll be working out, and he should be in our lineup Sunday.

I am disappointed in the outcome, but I am happy with what I saw. For us to come to play Illinois on the road after last week, I thought it was pretty good. Nobody really thought we had a chance to win. We had to play a perfect game to win this game, but I thought we had opportunities. ... It could have been easily a 25-point loss. I thought our guys did a great job staying in it.

There's a fine line between going in there and being emotional and allowing it to have an adverse effect, which I think happened to us last week. We settled down more in the second half of that game, but we lost our composure at times. I don't want us to lose our emotion, but we can't lose our composure. There's a fine line and at times we kind of crossed that, but we have to play with that same emotion, that same level of desperation or else we are not going to move on.

Greener is a veteran who is supposed to bring an offensive touch to the game. I thought he was all right in the first game but just so-so in the second. He had a long layover and it showed. Hopefully, a good week of practice here should help him.

We hung in there, it was the type of game I expected it to be. I thought all along we were a dangerous team and I think we showed that tonight. I'm disappointed that we lost, but proud of the way we played.

My expectations were two completed passes. I expected that we would win, and I don't know what next week holds when we play Baldwin on Monday, but I expect a different game.

We've got to get points out of this, ... Just like the playoffs, if you play at home first, you've got to win. That's the way we have to look at it. We had a great week of training, I thought. A really hard week, especially in the beginning of the week. It seems like forever since we played a game and I think everyone's ready.

Obviously we're very disappointed in the loss. I thought we had a really great week of preparation coming into the game. Defensively, I thought we played well enough to win the ball game.
