Just to be a gezegde

 Just to be a part of this team is something special, something I'll never forget. With these three guys gone, it's going to be hard for me, but the team's going to be strong, but we'll always remember these guys.

 He works hard every day, he studies and prepares himself as well as any of our starters. There is no question he has a strong desire to be a part of what's going on. But he is a team player and he places that above self. And that, to me, is very special. That's what really makes the core of a good football team when you have guys who put team before self.

 I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that.

 That was the special thing about this team: We were a club. The 25 guys we had on this team were as close as any team I have ever been a part of or associated with. Everybody truly cares and pulled for each other all year long. It's something that's very rare; you don't find it very often. And those teams that do have that are special.

 We finally beat these guys up here. We had never been ahead by any margin like that after alternate shot and it would have been hard for a team to come back from such a dominating lead. I think we had a particularly strong team this year and matched up well. Our guys all played great.

 I call him 'Pretty Ricky,' ... I like him because he's one of those guys, he plays hard. If you pull him aside and try to help him, he's willing to learn. He's very attentive and he asks questions. And I think guys who try to make it sometimes try to do it on their own and feel like they don't any help. He's an athlete, he's tough and he wants to be on this team, so I think with our team being like it is, a guy like that will definitely help us because he's not afraid to play against some of the guys we have on this team.

 It was hard. But we needed that to come together. We were kind of splintered a little bit, and we were going away from the team thing. Guys were going in separate directions. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. Getting up at 6 a.m., guys could be like, 'Aw, forget this.' But we really came together and helped each other.

 They are a big part of the team. You can't forget the younger guys. They are going to grow up to be the stars of the team one day.

 (Hampton) isn't the most gifted athlete that we have, yet he takes so much pride in how he plays, he's on every special team and I just thought it would send a strong message to our special-team guys that we appreciate them and that's the type of effort and that's the type of play that we're looking for.

 A couple of guys could have got it. We all worked hard to do whatever we could to help this team win and guys came up with big hits in a lot of situations. And it's just special for me to be thought of as MVP.

 Three-quarters of our offense was on the bench, and those guys just dug in hard and they played from the opening whistle. Every one of them thought we could win, even with the guys on the sideline, and that's what's so special about this year's team.

 That's what you want to be when you're part of the team. That somebody that guys depend on to get the job done and you're able. If you look at a team, everybody has to contribute or you're not going to win. ... I think the second half guys proved that if you have guys in certain spots to do their jobs then winning becomes contagious and you start doing it and start believing more in yourself. And that's when you see guys playing better and better. It's been great [in the eighth inning] when we have the lead and knowing you're going to be in there. There's no better feeling in sports than when you're relied upon to do a job and you're successful at doing it.

 That just speaks volumes of how deep of a team we are. On any other team, a lot of these guys all would probably be first team. ... It's a heck of an accomplishment for our team. It's a great personal accomplishment for those guys that made it. Hard work paid off.

 He wasn't as hard on guys as he was in the past. I think that was part of his plan -- to put the onus on guys in the room to take over the team and hold each other accountable.

 Trevor and Ted have worked hard on this but they were part of the team that cancelled the season, too. It's not up to those guys to make decisions. It's up to us 700 guys. I think that's where the frustration sets in with everybody.
