 The results were good, they were slightly above consensus and my expectations. They are trading on the low end of big media companies.

 Expectations are fairly low, and these companies will deliver results that are in-line, or slightly better than expectations.

 BT's 2Q 05/06 results would appear at first glance to be bang in line with our below-consensus expectations. But slightly more-than-expected margin weakness and lower cash flow is unlikely to be taken well. Our sell rating is maintained.

 AT&T reported results this morning that appear to be slightly ahead of Street expectations, but we believe the somewhat confusing results will likely take investors some time to get their arms around.

 We may do slightly better in sales and in profitability than present consensus expectations of the investment community. The longer-term business climate is improving, although we believe it is premature to increase consensus sales and earnings estimates for the full year of 1999 beyond their present levels.

 Excluding the fiscal year 1999 special charges, Litton's results would have reflected consensus expectations.

I think commodity prices, rising interest rates, are having a lagged negative effect on some earnings of major leading corporations. It's not impacting this quarter, but probably the third and the fourth quarter. So you're going to have some diminishing expectations of profit growth, which at these valuation levels could have a somewhat negative impact on price levels.

We've got 50 significant companies reporting results this week - but at this point, bad news is almost good news, because it's so built in to people's expectations.

 It's a 21st-century media company. The difference between the more traditional media companies and companies like Yahoo is all about technology, and the two - technology and media - totally marry each other.
