Dev is a freshman gezegde

 Dev is a freshman and sometimes I think we all lose sight of the fact that he's a kid that just a very short time ago was watching these games on television. And now I'm depending on him making play after play after play. That's not easy to do.

We did things we generally don't do in that game last week. We played a lot better this week.

 I don't really care if I play well or play bad, it's frustrating to lose the game. It doesn't do any good if we play well and lose basketball games. You still got a loss. It's like you didn't even go out there and do anything.

 I knew he was going to be good just watching him play JV as a freshman. At the practices, he showed he was good enough to almost play. Towards the end of his freshman year, he was holding his own.

Just watching film and the couple of games I've seen him this year, he's a fun player. He flies around. I'm not a strong safety, but if I did play that position, that's the way I would want to play.  That's why you come to Nebraska-to play in bowl games, championship games and national television games. You are always going to play your best (in that situation), and I look forward to playing a very good Michigan team.

 He'll play a couple of games at short, but mainly he'll play second. He'll get a lot of playing time there. We want to see what he can do offensively, we already know he's a good defensive player.

 Ricky's not new to the league. I've seen him play. He's seen me play. We lose a lot of games being robotic. We haven't had any practice time. But it's basketball at the end of the day. It's beautiful.

 This is phenomenal for our program. We get two home games at the Palace and television rights. For the next four years we can tell recruits that they get a chance to play against Michigan State and play them at home. This is the next step for us from making the tournament to becoming more than a 15-minute program.

 This is how you're supposed to play. We should have been playing like this a long time ago. It took a lot - had to lose a couple games in a row - but Coach (Sean Miller) finally got through to us that we have to play hard.

 If you're going to play bad, play bad down in South Carolina, or in one of those tournaments in Puerto Rico or something. For a lot of people, especially those watching on TV, this might be the one time they see us play.

 I am really not pleased with the improvement that we are making. I think our guys are having a very difficult time putting together 40 minutes of basketball. Yes we are playing a lot of different players. Our fours and fives have to play bigger, they play too small. They have the size to play big, but they don't play big with their intimidation of challenging shots.

 I saw him play as a freshman. I wasn't sure if he could play varsity. He didn't have the freshman year that he would have liked to have had. We let him play with us during that summer. He played with seniors last year and came off the bench. He got better and better as the season went on.
